Inspired by EG's thread about your single most favorite movie I thought it couldn't hurt to have one with some top-10 lists.

So... list your top-10 movies here, I'll add my list later on.

10 is a lot tougher than 1. I'll try:

2001
Batman
Big Lebowski
Alien
Dune ...

maybe I'll think of another 5 later.

I can't do 10, I don't watch enough films.

I'm probably forgetting something important that will bump one of these off once I realize it, but this is at least close. In case anyone is wondering, Empire Strikes Back would probably squeak into my top 20...barely...but none of the other Star Wars movies would make it. Maybe not even in my top 50.

I went back and forth on Night on the Galactic Railroad. I wasn't going to include any cartoons, but I really like that one.

If we're talking favorites, then in this order...

Dune
Star Trek: The Movie
Predator
Robocop
The Shawshank Redemption
The Sting
Tron
Alien
Outland
The Abyss

Edit: I can believe I forgot Tron, lol. Swapped with The Fifth Element.
Edit 2: Blade Runner is the superior sci-fi movie, but I've watched Outland far more often.

Can't do it. Some great choices on these lists though (well, most of them).

The Empire Strikes Back
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Two Towers
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Ghost in the Shell
Paprika
Inception
Princess Mononoke
Avatar
Terminator 2: Judgment Day

A lot of the entries are 'representative', with ESB representing Star Wars, etc. If I didn't do that, the list would be riddled with sequels. I wanted to include The Lion King and The Dark Crystal to represent Disney and Jim Henson, but I ran out of list. :(
