Ahh nice to see someone finally made a new smaller lens!

I see Console5 has a slim version in stock now, anyone try this yet? I have the LCD for the original model and it’s pretty awesome. I’d love a full sized one tho.

Is BennVenn’s supposed to be full size? Seems like his is taking forever.

Not sure on battery. Haven’t had time to run it long enough to eat the batteries. Lol. I’m sure someone has it written down.

alright. I'll be tackling the LCD mod soon. The glass inlay is a nice touch. Trying it on my junk camo models in case i screw this up.

Love the new screen, makes dark games actually readable!

How do you chance the brightness on this? Mine goes from bright to dark and I'm 99% certain im triggering it somehow.

touch the top corner. Some of the screen have a touch brightness sensor there.
That looks damn good on a silver console.

That looks great! I need to get one of those screen lenses sized for the screen mod. I’m hoping a full sized IPS version will eventually happen like the GBC.

Incredibly easy, especially with the tutorial video that lions posted. I'm only basic in soldering, and this needed none at all unless you unsoldsr and resolder the speaker wires, which were very easy to do.

My replacement glass lenses come today from Console5.
They do look much better than having the 3D printed frame on display

You do lose some real estate on the sides, but I'm absolutely fine with it until a 1:1 drop in version of the most exists. I can read the words for Faselei and Biomotor Unitron with the lights off.

You do, But the eye strain from trying to see a unlit back screen is considerably less than that of a slightly smaller screen
Plus it really brings the colour out!

So yeah until there is a 1:1 I am much happier with this one

The current LCD's are smaller. You can still do a frontlit mod if you want 1:1, but there is some washout of the colors.

So nice i did it twice. These pictures are under some bright LED's on my workbench, so they look a little washed out. I took out the old front light mod on one and upgraded to this new display. I don't mind the slightly smaller screen at all, and I am not waiting for a Bennvenn that will probably cost double.
Funny enough, the frontlight mod is still stickied at the top of this subforum. That seemed like such a pain at the time, but it wasn't all that bad. Just a lot work getting it lined up right.

On a side note, holy hell some of the prices have skyrocketed. Cotton has shot to the top.
