Anyone have a ROM of either of these titles?

We're they ever dumped?

I doubt it. Not many Korean dumps. Probably the normal Korean versions like missing sound samples and voices. If ack still has them I can dump them for him.

Last Soldier has already been dumped

The Last Blade (Korean version)

  • Change of title: The Last Soldier
  • Lack of voice clips for intros, win poses, and announcer
  • No Blood
  • Some differences for some color characters costumes
  • Change of most characters name (ex : Kim Dohaan instead of Kaede)

A few korean Neo Geo games remain undumped like The Last Soldier 2, KOF96, Breakers, Fight Fever, Ninja Masters,...

agreed. This explain why in most korean neogeo releases it misses some voices clips intro, win poses, and announcer....maybe because they are too japanese.

As example, if you check kof97k and kof98k, you will see only M1 (labelled M1K) differs from the original kof98 MVS dump (rest are identical)...I guess some voices which are "too japanese" have been removed on those Korean releases.

Could be interesting to make a topic about differences between regular releases (JAP/US/EUR) and those releases made for the Korean market.

Bit of info - last time I opened up my Korean cart of RBFFS I saw they had scribbled over Made in Japan with a permanent pen, super odd :)

Here's a piccy:

i know this Wiki site and it is very interesting even if it seems incomplete.

On a side note, your PROG BOARD (PROGBK1) seems to be the same as the MVS RBFFS Korean PROG BOARD scan in MVSGOTWALLS except for the scribbles on the EPROMS :

it could be interesting to dump it to see if it matches actual dump in MAME.

Best regards,
Jackc.

It should match the MAME dump since we dumped it in 2010. For the RBFFS, we also dumped the S1 and M1 but iirc they were the same as the US/JP release.

thanks Xian Xi for the usefull info about the S1 and M1. I guess you're right and it probably should match the MAME dump.
