I definitely will, I think that chip just stores configuration data for the guns and other things. So not really a suicide battery type situation. I will post again with the results.

Also FRAM means ferroelectric random access memory. Neat.

This should be the compatible FRAM FM16W08-SG
However I don't know about the RTC functionality IE if apart from the needed static data the game will also need to continuously write the time on that and if it's the case if you can disable the rtc (not installing the 32,768 Hz quartz for example) without compromising the game.
