KOF2k1 Unconfirmed returning characters! Read all about it!!!

Well, I've just read the MagicBox website (I dunno if this info is 100% or not) , but here's the unconfirmed list of returning characters in KOF2K1:

K', Maxima, Kyo, Iori, Benimaru, Seth, Vanessa, Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Blue Mary, Mai, Chizuru, Bao, Athena, Chin, Sie Kensou, Daimon, Yashiro, King, Kim Kaphwan, Choi, Chang Koehan and Jhun Hoon. Other than the 23 characters, there will be a number of brand new characters, and K' will not be the main character this time around.

Actually, I like Joe as a playable character, I don't use him as a striker.. but mainly, I'm mad that there's no Ikari's or KyokugenRyuu fighters... that's all.

Call me a skeptic, but I think the reported roster is bunk. A hoax! A scam! An imaginary dream!

I don't buy that Lin won't be in the next game because of the nature of the Beni team's ending. Would seem afully abrupt to end things that way, wouldn't it?

I also don't buy that K' won't be the main character this time around. His story still seems incomplete, and now that Whip is reunited with him I have a feeling there's one more fight left in them.

Just the thoughts of one KOF fan...

I agree Taiso.. It's still unconfirmed and the CAN'T get rid of the Ikari's or the Kyokugenryuu teams... because they are damn important. And Shingo! Why did they miss him??!!

No Kyokugenryu? That would be a CRIME. I thought the Bogard vs. Sakazaki rivalry was one of the key storylines with KOF. Joe Higashi shouldn't be gone either. As for Yashiro, he could come back if they make it a Dream Match like 98.

Thank goodness the list is unconfirmed. Hopefully it's incomplete.

Frankly, I think the Striker system should be 86ed.

This list is probably bull, and Jackal is right, the whole point of King of Fighters'94 was that it was Fatal Fury vs. Art of Fighting (both the characters and the gameplay elements) with some new characters thrown in.

im sure its a hoax, or rather misinformed, k' may be replaced as the main character, that is still uncertain, but if you check the neofreak magizine rating for characters is easy to tell they are missing quiet a few really popular ones, which as they said, out with less popular ones and in with older and more popular ones...and about bao being dead, no he didn't die in 2000 but kensou got his powers back when saving his life...basicly it means youll see the return of more traditional recognized characters and the lose of characters rarely used, and clark gets used quiet a bit...no to mention the story with NEST needs the ikari team...

Yashiro is not dead--not according to the KOF 2000 Manga which follows KOF storyline. Then again, so is Vice, Mature, Geese, and...(I guess they can even bring back Rugal umpteenth time, if they felt like it).

Sure. Tell NeoGML to write the words that say "Rae uh Hi Ro" in Korean (sorry, can't type in Korean w/ this computer). But honestly, you can't say which word is right, as this is a Korean word written in Eng.

Neo GML used Korean letters that correctly conveys in Eng. I guess that's how they teach Eng in korea, but it doesn't sound right. You know, it's like when Korean says they are speaking Eng, they are really speaking Eng (British), and not American Eng--unless they have lived here for long periods. The word that I am suggesting really isn't proper Korean, but it sounds better--American or even English speaking.

just for note, the kof comics dont follow the real story, that is if your talking about the ones by andy seto, and as far as i know those are the only kof comics drawn and printed and all...if you want to follow the offical story to kof then you'll have to know japanese and get the drama cd's, or a translation of them...the drama cd's were made to explain the story in detail and give more life to the characters making them easier to relate to, it also fills gaps that you might wonder about when playing the game...the games endings and all dont really tell the story, but more or less summarize on the important things that are need to know...

No Yuri? No Rarufu? No Reona? No Lobart? No Joe? Whoa!

If such is the case, I predict that 2K1 will be the worst KoF ever...not counting '94 and '95. Dreammatches seriously burn arse. I like KoF for its superiority in characters and development of such characters. Not to mention its better gameplay. But that's what got me started; the story.

Well, at least K' won't be the main character...that's a plus.

On the one hand Leona is my best character and I will personally undergo the Orochi blood rage if she is not in the next KOF. On the other hand...

One of the reasons that the later KOFs are not as good is because they have to bring back too many characters in every game. Most of the development effort goes into reinventing the wheel for use with a newer engine, so to speak.

I disagree with the (rumored) cuts, but there is definitely a lot of baggage with the KOF lineup. It has to be extremely difficult to take KOF to the next level when you need to do another whole year's worth of development just to bring back everyone who's already there.

If Eolith are gonna get rid of old characters, fine. But, give us good reasons for getting rid of them storywise. Heidern would not just decide to not enter his Ikari Team as he has been chasing after Nests since '99. That makes Leona and the rest not appearing pretty stupid. The same goes for the Aof team, i doubt they would just not enter the tournament without a good reason. So Eolith, get rid of whoever you want, but don't leave great big holes in the plotline
