Hey folks,

As much as we want these games, these are budget titles. Budget titles dont get the same kind of treatment that top tier titles get, and they are never next day aired to any retailers. When a company says the game is out, that means that it has shipped to retailers distribution facilities, not that it has been delivered to stores. It usually takes a few days for them to find there way to retailers shelves, as has been the case with recent releases such as Fatal Fury Battle Archives, AoF Anthology, Taitio Legends 2, Fire Pro Wrestling Returns, Victorious Boxers Revolution, and now KOF XI and NGBC.

Also, when you guys go into and EB, you have to keep in mind that due to it being a budget title, they do not take reserves on it because they cannot guarantee the quantities they will get on day one. You very rarely see them ever take reserves on a budget title. Furthermore, the budget games will not have a date in their computers because it is not on their reserve lists...that is why they dont know the dates.

If you guys live on the west coast, start looking for it on Thursday or so...for everyone else I'd say start looking on Mon or Tues of next week.

Hope this helps

Any SNK fan knows that all these ports are low budget lack luster and low production.... as far as EB not being able to take reserves is lame, they took a reserve for SamSho 5 on the xbox for me...but not these 2 for some reason...

yet EB will take like 200-300 reserves on the Wii system when they know they only get like 20-50 ...

I got my copy of KoF XI. I got it from a local retailer for $20. KoF XI is available. Atleast in New York.

Its good to know thats its finally released, from what I've looked up on the net so far is the more noticible glitches were fixed in this release (though I can't say of any others so far). I can't wait till friday, I get paid and I'll have a week of thanksgiving break to play.

KOF XI and NGBC coming stateside.

I just got my copy of KOF XI through the mail. I also don't know why Gamestop does not allow for pre orders of SNK Playmore games, but that is why I ordered through Amazon.com.

Got my KOFXI copy at gamecrazy earlier today. Been wanting to play it ever since it was released on the Atomiswave.

Well, here's nonsense for you. The local shop says they did not get KOF XI today, but did get NBC. what the fuck. I have lost all ability to trust the words of my fellow human beings.

I fully expect to go over there and have the guy say, "Tomorrow. Coming in tomorrow," or something.

Grabbed the US version this afternoon and had a little play through for about a hour, to see if anything has changed since the Japanese release.

First thing you'll probably notice is the new insert cover used for the game. Which i think looks better and more badass than the import version. Graphically, it looks awesome and music-wise, it's got one of the best soundtracks for a KoF game(Yuri, Adelheid, Kyo-Team, K-Team, are among my faves).

Pretty much the only things i've really noticed are the slowdown issues during the loading interface right before the game addresses the name of the stage and the time.

The more obvious slowdown is when fighting Magaki, the end boss. You'll definitely notice here. I'm certain it wasn't as present in the Japanese version.

Other than that, it's the same great KoF i remember from last years import release. Of course, everything is in English/Engrish now so i can actually understand the story, winning quotes, etc a lot better. Glad SNKP didn't screw up the US port. Just hated the delays which they are notorious for.

The one thing I cant figure out is why they took out the 480p option.
AARRRGGHH! This is terrible news! Oh well so much for HD play on this one.

On another note, I hate the fact that the Atomiswave game looks like ass on regular monitors, this trysynch business annoys the bejesus out of me, hell even on VGA monitors it looks like ass!

480p isn't HD, it's just progressive scan, or ED (Enhanced Definition).

720P or higher is considered HD.

Still a game like KOF in 480p or 720p will look the same, this new HD things only apply strongly to 3D games.

2D was mostly made on 320x240, and in some cases 640x480 which is pretty much 480p, and yes it is as crisp as is gonna get no matter if you go on higher res like 720p and 1080p.

I'm not sure were you're going with this, but I find it funny that most folks think of HD as something new, because in VGA land is being going on for a long time.

Here's a fine example; Dreamcast VGA box outputs VGA obviously, and when played on a HD monitor/projector a 480p mode will be automatically selected for it, so is 480p not 640x480? and if not what is it about a 480p resolution in a 2D game that makes it a lesser alternative than a 720p res on a 2D game?

I'm not trying to bash here, I just think I have some valid questions, so if you got some answers please be my guest.

The higher the rez the worse these particular games look IMO.... to a point anyhow.I have an 1080p LCD, and a 1080i tube style HD TV, both 16:9 aspect...all the older systems that have a max of either 480p or 720p look better on the smaller tube HD TV IMO.its more forgiving than the super sharp LCD with the old fighting games especially.

I really don't like how sharp they are on the LCD, great for next gen games, but looks overly sharp on the older games... to the point it makes the games look bad in my eyes...even with the PS3 "smoothing" turned on thats why I tell most people who are into older games as well as new ones to find the largest HDMI tube TV they can.... they are pretty cheap these days...I think my 37 inch tube HD was only like 650 bucks..... as apposed to the 47 inch LCD at 2600 bucks

Just got my copy yesterday and I have to say I'm surprised how fun the game is. It looks like old SNKP took a bit more time with the programming and front end. It feels less thrown together like thier previous attempts. The last boss is cheap as hell, but after you get him into a pattern, he's pretty easy.

Thanks SNKP for not screwing this one up.

Where are you located again, JD?
This thread is a nice way to track the spread of the game across the US.
I've yet to spot it in Georgia.
Maybe if they had advertised it as a "Wrastlin'" game instead of a 2-d fighter.
We'd have had it the day it was released.

I preordered from Amazon... it was shipped from Phoenix, AZ and showed up here in Columbia, SC this past Monday. It took an extra day for my friend in Austin, TX to get his, though... so who knows what was up with that?

Ditto!

For the casual US console gamer 2D games look their best on a tube component TV or at least S-Video.

My Wega looks like a dream with all the PS2 SNK ports with component cable, although the dreamcast looks superb as well with S-video, this is the only reason I refuse to update my TV situation.

I leave the HD needs for my projector, although I must say that KOFXI PS2jp looks great on 480p, hell even better than the Atomiswave game on a VGA monitor...damn that try-synch bullshit!
