what a schmuck.
yeah, thanks dreamcst. now all the characters and art has an ugly, pale, washed out, faded, and blended look to everything. i guess that's "better"

The Neo version has those washed out colors to begin with. Most of the fighter's projectile attacks look pale when compared to the past KOF games.Take a look at Iori's projectile attack in the arcade version.

It was all retained in the DC version and maybe in some areas, its just worse. But the differences are not as dramatic.Stop nitpicking.

This is actually quite close to the AES version and it has more extras too.It seems that playmore/snk is improving at each KOF port they make. Most of the past ports on the DC seem different because of poor programming and not because of DC's weakness.DC could handle any neo ports with its eyes closed. It all depends on the developers.

There's no port out there that can match the feeling of the original AES carts.

Whatever you wanna believe, keep paying 300 bones a pop for an inferior version of the game. Yes please do.

Can you tell me more about the extras of the port ?

I'll probably take the MVS cart and play it in AES Mode.

Of course the option of buying/making a better stick is available, but I know that Rob has just the DC Arcade stick and so I put it to cons.
For myself, I've got two Arcade Sticks and I think they suck, compared to the NeoGeo OldStyle stick, but I'm not getting or making a new one...why should I? I prefer playing games on my Neo with a good stick and I'd rather spend my money on NeoGeo equipment than on a new DC stick.

You know what else? It does look better than the Neo version, because it solves the ugly pixilated sprite look all Neo fighters have had, due to the 1,000 year old hardware they're still running on.

Well, that's your opinion. I prefer the way the games look on the Neo instead of the blurry, filtered look the DC versions of those games have.

After all I don't really care about the DC version of KoF2K...if it has loading times or not, if the stages are any good and so on...after all I personally don't like this title at all, that's why I was recommending KoF2K1.

I have both the DC and AES version.. and imo, the AES version is better, it has the neo "feel" written all over it, and I personally think it plays better as well, the extra backgrounds are "ok" but if you have the money, go for the AES version.

"opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one!"

Yeah Mystery I know KoF 2001 is better, but I haven't got enough money for it and I don't like the looking of the game. KoF 2000 looks real modern and cool, but KoF 2001 looks like crap. Maybe the gameplay is better, but I'll go for KoF 2000. IF I don't like it I could sell it anyway.

Thank you for your help.

i bought both, and was happier with the AES version. but, besides that, why are you so concerned with everyone's money situation? if they wanna spend the cash, let em Mommy.

You all do of course realize that the Neo is a 16 Bit System.........

Please don't be taken in by the box adds!

A friend of mine is going to be getting a copy of KOF2k on DC soon enough and I'll give it a good run down and compare it to my MVS version.

And BTW, you can't play KOF2k in AES mode, it won't work w/ the 4X Bios, but it probably will with that new bios.

Honestly it doesn't matter cause you can edit your teams after each (2P) match anyway in the MVS version!

Peace

EDIT: Grrrrrrr I hate signing my name more than once...........

I know, I know, you weren't the one who said it originally! But what's worse, making the error or propagating it? :p :D

I couldn't resist the friendly jab, but I love ya buddy!

Both games are good. The DC version is the SAME as the Neo version, save that the graphics are finer and the DC additional backgrounds are just awesome.

I have both versions and, to be totally honest, I especially enjoyed playing the DC version.

Tisk Tisk Fran....

Technically the Motorola 68000 in the Neo has 32bit internal registers, however it only has a 16bit data bus, hence it is considered a 16bit CPU :D .

But the PSX2 is built on a custom "Emotion engine" chip Kusaragi built, and as it's proprietary I don't know how big it is but since they call it 128bit then I really don't have a reason to doubt them!

Peace
