Coolness, KI is such a great game IMO. Good luck fixing it.

Much to my surprise, I have come to find that the first KI is more sought after than KI2, probably because of the character change, pretty syre theres no Riptor in 2 if memory serves me correct.

Only crappy part is I can only beat like 3 characters before getting my ass kicked by the computer. Have to keep playing/practicing.

Damn, congrats man! I still have that game on my SNES haha, but it's not even 1/4 as cool as the arcade version. Thunder was pretty rad, but I think Cinder was the shit. Was Cinder in KI2? I totally forgot... wait... is KI2 the same as KI Gold for the N64, just a different title?

Congrats. It's one of the games I hope to have in my arcade one day. I'm a bit jealous! :)

Hahaha, yeah, it did look like shit. I still have my 64, just for the sake of Zelda and a few more games, but I traded in Gold ages ago.

Thanks Spike, cool thing was it has The Compact Flash Upgrade so no HD, which makes the board more reliable. On the down side cost me $130.00 beans

I have both KI 1 & KI 2. If you like KI 1 then try and get KI 2. A lot of people don't like KI 2, but it's great once you get into it, and learn the combo's, especially the ultras.

Web site that maybe useful for you, as far as info goes, good luck!!

You don't even know how many memories I have of this game. I remember when it was first coming out in the arcades, and the 2 that I would go to were just packed with people playing KI.

It was the best arcade period of my life! Everything about KI is great, the way it plays, the look, the music. Lucky man I tell you.

I've been playing this on mame for the better part of the last two hours and I check here to see this.. ha.

I've owned the boardset, so if you need help with it, let me know. Keep that HD nice and safe. Especially cool and away from the PSU and monitor.

$200+ is absurd to pay for it, especially considering how MANY kits of KI can be found. I can pick them up for about $100-$125 easily.

Do yourself a favor and buy a replacement HD and BootRom chip, because you're eventually going to need it and you can do an quickie KI->KI2 conversion with it.

KI is probably my favorite of all time, but the graphics aren't as impressive as I remember them. Still fun as hell. I can remember nights in my dorm room where my roomates and I would play this until the wee hours of the morning on the SNES port. (I ruled with Spinal and Cinder.)

I dominate with Tusk on KI2, but the game is a REAL letdown. The look and feel of the original was badass and KI2 just made it into a campy 60's claymation Sci-Fi game.. like Land Of the Lost the fighting game.

KI is so deep, though.. much deeper than anyone will EVER give it credit for and I think it rivals the "deepest" fighters in complexity, fun and strategy. I'm surprised no haters came in yet to tell you it's a button mashing game. If they ever came over and played, I'd teach them a lesson about button mashing in a KI game. I really destroyed on this game in the tourney scene locally, I was really sad when the competition died to Tekken and SF3.

Long live Killer Instinct!
