I picked up a second Egret II recently. It is the one shown vertically on the left in the pics below. Condition of the cab cosmetically was pretty ordinary! The person who had it before me thought it would be a great idea to spray over the original paint with a mat white finish???

Restoration work done was as follows:

# Stripped all the crappy spray paint off. Managed to do it without stripping the original paint. Acetone and fine steel wool worked wonders.

#Touched up various paint chips all over the cab with paint I had made up from the first one was used again. Then sanded and did another coats where required. The left side of the cab looked like Wolverine had a go at it! Massive scratch along the side the I touched up, looks ok now.

#Touched up the side decals. Left side was a bit torn but I fixed it pretty well.

#Used a rotary polisher to finish it up. Sparkles now!

#Bottom of the cab had a lot of surface rust so I stripped everything out took it back to bare metal removing the rust the used metal primer. Came out nice! Just realised I have not taken any pics of it.

#Cab came without the wooden back panel so I made another up and sprayed it white.

#A few pieces like the coin flab and cab feet were chipped or rusted so I stripped them and resprayed them black.

#Control panel had rust on the back. Stripped it all off.

#Printed a new "instruction sticker space" card

#Stripped the little metal holders for the "instruction sticker spacer" and resprayed them as they were all chipped and rusted.

#New Seimitsu buttons and LS-32 sticks. Sanwa mesh ball tops.

#Replaced the coach bolts on the control which were rusted.

#New original Marquee holders for both cabs.

#Had Jasen make me up a couple of "indoor use only" stickers for the back. I used the 50 yen sticker I had left from last time by Jasen too on this one.

#New light bulb for the illumination panel.

All up I probably put about 50 hours into it. I'm really happy with how it came up. When I got it, it looked yellow next to my first one! These cabs are pretty rare over here so it's nice to have 2x great examples in my game room.

Here are the pics.
