On my way to the UK the other day for annual leave, called into Brisbane to meet some friends and see the Elvis Costello concert there. It turned out that he was on the way back to the UK at the same time. Bumped into him at Singapore airport, after some small talk got an autograph on the ticket from the night before :)

Any other celeb stories ?

I met former x-factor winner steve brookstein in the Portsmouth train station news agents, I dont think anyone else had recognised him, I introduced myself with my full name like he'd know who I am. Infact I think i'm actually more famous now.

He's awesome. Still to this day "Everyday I write the Book" is one of my fave songs.

He played that # at the solo gig in Brisbane. At first I thought he was a look alike at the airport. Nice guy to meet :buttrock:

My mom saw Creed at an airport once. All she got out of it was how short Scott Stapp is.

I met Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) last Halloween at a signing event...cool shit. My friend ended up talking to him about RotJ and such while we were on the hayride. :buttrock:

My friend and I met Billy West at a convention while he was just hanging out and we just shot the shit for a good half an hour, awesome guy in person. Also met Jeffrey Combs, the fucking Re-Animator, while he was walking around as well. I did a Jay and Silent Bob when I saw him, "You were awesome in Frightners!"

This thread made me remember the time I was in SLC airport on a long layover and ran into the best Elvis impersonator I've ever seen --only he wasn't dressed as Elvis, he was just walking between flights in normal clothes --only his face was still made up (and by luck of nature) to look identical to the idealized, young Elvis --only he had greenish-blue eyes. Walked right by me, I assumed going on a connection to or from Vegas, and his amazing resemblance just made me stop for a few seconds (as well as a few others) to look back as he walked by. I admit that, at that moment, I really did understand why the King was so big at one time. One middle age lady looked genuinely starstruck, even though we all knew it was just an impersonator. I don't foresee MJ ever reaching that status.

Dan Rather and I got delayed at Newark airport once on the way to Florida around this time two years ago. He was very quiet but was very aggravated with the flight delay. The highlight of that night was some mid western mother asking her four year old kid to "Tell Mr. Brokaw that you watch him with on the tee-vee" to his face.

She might as well have asked him, "What's the frequency?".

The only difference is we know MJ died. An Elvis has his own pinball machine. :vik::buttrock:

Well, as much as I think the King was bigger, I admit that just about any pinball machine with an MJ-theme would probably be 10x more awesome.

Could you imagine a Moonwalker-themed pinball machine? hawt :envy:

I never thought I'd say this, but Jackson's estate really needs to start exploiting him faster.

My wife Tine works at H&M in my hometown. One day when she walked by the changing cubicles, one of the doors opened and out came Alice Cooper with several pieces of clothing on his arm, he gave a concert that night in Erlangen and stayed at a hotel in Nuremberg.

Tine is a huge fan of Alice since she was a kid so she gathered all her courage, went over to him and had a chat with him. Later on Tine and three of her colleagues did the "we're unworthy, we're unworthy!!" routine from Wayne's World. Then she hugged him and Alice said: "Don't let this see my wife!".

I found that quite cool, even though I don't really care for celebs and the fuss around them.

:)
