Just bought PSP-3000.......

Just got a new PSP-3000 from Sonystyle store around 7:30pm. My original fat PSP got stolen 3 months ago therefore I need a get a new one soon. When I went into the Sonystyle store and asked for PSP-3000, two associates were like "WTF are you talking about?" until manager came over and informed them that new stock of PSP-3000 came in this afternoon.

Played the new PSP for awhile and actually it's alot better than my original fat one.

It's just me or the screen resolution is much better & higher than previous model?

I'd buy one if they can be homebrewed. slim is cool, but I wouldn't mind a screen that eliminates the ghosting afflicting the previous 2 models. (does it?)

Yep, it's noticeable better. At first I thought new PSP-3000 has higher resolution than previous one.

D-pad/buttons, feel much better than PSP-2000 (I dont have this model, but played it at friend's place)

I have a 2000 model and will be looking to upgrade around Christmas time. Did yours come with a 4 gig card?

I'm seriously considering getting one to make a hybrid 2001/3000. I'm not even sure if it's really possible, but I doubt they changed the layout too much. If possible I'd swap over the 3000's buttons to the slim along with the screen.

I have a brand new 4 gig card in hand and I was going to use it for my fat PSP. Unfortunately it got stolen by one of the construction workers.....damn

I'd like to know if the ghosting issue has been solved. I hated it so much I sold off my PSP awhile back. If it's cleared up, I'd definitely buy a new one.

I've heard the ghosting isn't as bad in the 3000. The resolution isn't any better, but the color depth is a world apart from 1000. I would get one but I have my LE Crisis Core model and I'm content with it.

I'll need to check it out and let you know tonight. Only thing I know so far is that the color display on the screen is much better than my old fat one for sure.

I think I'll try to play Ridge Racer 2 to see if ghosting problem still exists or not.

ghosting is supposed to be gone as pixel response time is now twice as fast.

this seems like a very very small upgrade over the 2000 (which was a nice upgrade and worth buying) this is only worth it if you don't already have a 2000 imo

Mine just showed up a few minutes ago. Long story short, do not order from walmart online. I'm just charging it up right now so hopefully here in an hour or so i can give it a go. I had a fat psp the last time i had one and loved it, too bad it got stolen :/

Should I take my 2000 back to Best Buy and buy a 3000? It's still not too late. It doesn't sound like much of an upgrade, apart from the mic, which I don't think I'd really use.

The PSP 2000 has ghosting issues? I've never heard this. I thought we were in agreement the 2000 is just way better than the 1000 and that's it.

I'm most likley going to get this now, have fat, and 2 slim's now i have to ask Does the casing feel harder on the screen, because with my slim's small cracks have appeared near the edge of the screen case.

I've been playing with mine for a couple of hours now and i really like it, its quite an improvement over the fat psp. If you can take your 2001 back and get a 3001, then why not? The screen certainly seems brighter and more crisp and the blacks look even darker (higher contrast ratio). Imo its well worth it if you can do it for free. I don't have a 2001 model so i cannot compare it to that, but i'm definately happy with the 3001 model i just got today. Btw just a reminder to stay away from walmart.com, go to their store instead, but under no circumstances should you order from them online, its horrible.
