This is a game I keep looking at... I'm not usually a fan of the genre, but the art by itself looks cool enough to make me want to try it.

I have seen this in the bargain bin locally, I will have check it out based on everyone's comments. I figured it was in there because the game ended with you getting burned at the stake even if you won. :p

At what store? It's full price everywhere I've seen it. If there is a chain that exists local to me that has it at a bargain price, that would definitely put me over the edge towards choosing to pick it up.

Fred Meyer's and Sears, though Fred Meyer's apparently realized their error and now has it back in the locked case at full price. I believe Sears still had some with their bargain games when I picked up Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the GC for $5.97.

I am about 30 hours in and the story took a dive awhile ago and now it is just dragging on and on.....

I pretty much agree.

I took a big break from it for a while, and came back to it a week or so ago.

There really aren't a whole lot of plot developments in the last 1/3.

Still, the gameplay itself is just enjoyable to play through, and the skill merging element is strangely addictive too. It's always interesting to see what new combinations are going to give you (even though 90% of the time it is some crap skill you already have...).

Finally beat the game. Took my time with it and really enjoyed it. I was quite surprised how long the game actually was. Definitely got my money's worth. I would have liked to have heard the Japanese voice acting as I was not a fan of the English voices. Anyway, really enjoyed the game. Definitely worth the pick up.

What was the average level of your crew at the last battle?

I got there the other day and got pretty wasted. Fortunately I still had a save from back on the main map so now I'm back there levelling up some more first and kitting my key players out with a better skill set before attempting it again.

Most of my main characters were in the 60s-70s. The last boss is not too difficult, as long as you use as much AoE spells and skills as possible. If you notice, the last boss takes up quite a few squares, so using skills like Sweep with Giles and any AoE with Richard does mega damage. I can post more in detail when I get home (at work now), but basically my main attack team consisted of Jeanne, Giles, La Hire, Richard, Colet, and the femal archer (I forget her name). Giles will be your main damage dealer so make sure he is strong. Also, it is imperative that you do the free stage side quests so that you can get the special weapons for him and others. You want to use Sweep with Giles, which will hit like 4 or 5 times. You then want to take in La Hire and Jeanne in for some melee. If you can, bring in Colet for Two Hits or Four Hits if you have it. Use Richard for AoE (also does massive damage) or healing, and then use the archer to cap it off. Once the last guy gets below a certain health ( I think 1200), two of the towers will heal him. They will heal him for about 250-300 a spell (max two speels per turn) but you should be doing more damage to him then he will be able to heal for (especially since he cannot be healed every round). Sorry for the long post, PM me if you are still having problems and I can go into more detail.

PS. Ignore all other monsters on the board. Just get your forces in a group and start the attack.

That`s pretty much exactly the same strategy I used - worked like a charm...

Thanks. My crew were quite a lot lower than that, so I going to get them all up to at least level 60 and then have another crack at it.

Do the free stages for level up your guys. It is good experience and, more importantly, you get the best weapons in the game. Having good weapons really makes all the difference in the world (especially for Giles).

You do not have to get all of them up to 60, but you need at least to have Jeanne, Richard, Giles, and maybe La Hire there.

Finally beat this over the weekend. Jeanne was level 60 or so but the rest were in the 50s or even high 40s. It was tough to kill Gilvaroth until I equipped Cyclone II/I on everyone. Then it was easy as pie, 3 turns and he is dead.

Got this one for Christmas and finally started playing it.

Love it, like FFT with more system to it and, of course, differing strategies.

Make sure you do the cemetery free stage and get all 3 hidden treasures. You get some of the strongest gear in the game on that board. The little ghosts are a bitch to kill though. Dodge everything.

@hanafuda How did you put 70 hours in this game? I am less than half of that.....

Dunno.

Were you just playing with the same team all the time? I spent quite a bit of time getting pretty even stats for all. Also killed a lot of time mixing up skills and such, and also did most of the side quests, like Coliseum and such..
