You can still edit as long as it's within a minute of time posted.

ed: just like this.

Nice. As long as I can ninja edit my spelling/grammar mistakes I'm happy. I think this should be a permanent change.

not just a grammar / spelling, market threads topics can't be edited to current status *SOLD*, etc.. and that is a problem.

It was the Market Forum that provoked the changed --particularly with sellers and buys messing around with their comments.

I wish it were a rule that Sellers MUST put a price on what they're selling.. then keep it there after it's sold for reference. I hate finding 5 things sold but the price is removed and it just says "sold".

Agree 100%

I have argued this at other forums as well. I always leave the price up after something has sold and just mark SOLD after the price once someone has bought it. Its a nice reference so in the future if someone is researching the price/value of a similar item they have something to refer to. It does no harm and benefits the community. Imagine how bad it would suck if eBay removed ending prices from closed auctions.

I also hate people who delete the entire content of the For Sale listing after everything has sold.

Some of the other forums I belong to use a 15 or 30 minute edit window. If something needs an edit or deletion from awhile back, they have to plead with a moderator, which in most cases doesn't usually work.

Hmmm.

This also means sellers with large sale threads end up in a complete mess...

I've made the following tweaks based on feedback and how things are working in practice:

(1) I upped the amount of time you have to edit your posts from 1 minute to 5 minutes.

(2) You can now edit your thread titles for the same time limit as before.

sometimes i put a price on an item one day, then i will end up reducing the price somewhat frequently to garner a bit more interest and it's very convenient for the first post to reflect that as i bump the thread. or i will put items up for sale without a price at first (i know people dont like that) but in a days time i will come up with a price. i admit i am a bit spontaneous when it comes to pricing and putting items up for sale and the ability to edit is really nice.

also i like to make only one thread. i can edit the title to show different items that have been added and put all pictures in the first post. like on my current sales thread, its kind of awkward. i'm sorry for any inconvenience though. i will work with what is available and i like the sales forum here.

If you guys did things right in the first place you wouldn't have this problem.

Bobak says above you can edit titles in selling threads.

If want to update your selling list, prices, etc., just answer your thread, and put in the new post the updated list.

All I know is that 5 minute edit window is fucking irksome. I just noticed that today when I returned to a thread and noticed a mispelling. The edit window used to be days, not minutes. Really sucks for list thread like "which games work on X converter". Once you can't edit the list, the thread is useless.

HEY! Why can't EDIT my posts in Tech!? :conf:

No EDIT in Tech is lame. I can't use the EDIT command to add new info, fix the grammar or spelling, make my point clearer, or mark the last time I read on of my Tech posts. :annoyed:

Can you please return the EDIT command to TECH? :)

Thanks,

:buttrock:

Because you're apparently unable to notice a thread on the exact same topic that was at the top of suggestions and is now directly below yours. :oh_no:
