Issue with Neo Geo AES....or the games..

Got a japanese Neo Geo AES with Unibios 3.1 in it.


Today I was going to play some of my games.

The results:

SamSho 5 - after the Neo Geo logo it resets to the Unibios screen. No sound. Only sometimes sound

KoF 96 - white screen, after cleaning the cartridge contacts it worked some time. After that again white screen


KOF 97 - worked without any problems whatsoever


KOF99 - white screen nothing else


Blazing Star - works with any problems












sooooo the big question:

is my AES on the brink of dying - if yes can it be fixed?


OR


are my games slowy dying away - which would piss me off more.

White screen with UniBIOS means P ROMs aren't working, game can't boot. Make sure the console is clean and the AC adapter is working properly. Try using another adapter if you can find one. Check the output of your current adapter, there's the 5v version and then the 9v, 10v or 11v version.

But back to topic - I fixed the problem by putting snake oil onto the cart contacts. Worked wonders.


that is I used Isopropanol.
