Rugal in KOF 98 was my nightmare during several months. Even now, I don't know how to beat him.

Mhmm...Rugal also kept me away from sleep for some days...but finally I fount a method (I think with Robert) to beat him flawless. Yeah no big deal for some KoF X-perts here but I was damn happy about it *g*

Krizalid is as cheap as Zero but at least Krizalid is cool...especially his BG + Tune kicks Zero's ass

My favourite KoF bosses still are Orochi (because of the story) and Goenitz (because he kicks ass *g*)

Easiest way to beat Rugal in '98 is to use a character with a full-screen projectile, then stand on the opposite side of the screen and keep throwing weak versions (A or B button). Rugal will often mis-time the reflector and eat the projectile, and even if he does reflect it, you'll have plenty of time to recover and block it. Then just throw another one.

Actually, the easiest way to beat Rugal is with Orochi Shermie... Do her hcf D move (the kiss) and Rugal will perform his own fireball as well, but Shermie's will win. Just keep doing Shermie's fireball until he dies. Easiest way to beat him... Rugal is what I call a dumb fuck... Don't worry about it. And don't lose any sleep over Kula either. She's playable on the home version of KOF 2000 (which many of us have). You didn't miss much, either fighting her, or playing as her.

Well, she's playable in the arcades too, you just gotta put in a code... And btw, DaMan, it's actually the other way around... Kula is the subboss, and Zero is the final boss... They're both easy as fuck tho... And like EX Andy said, you're not missing much by not playing against/as Kula... You're only missing on some cheap ass tricks *cough*Her C throw*cough* and that's probably it... He,He...

I have the mvs version and although i have not played the game too often ,
I once fought kula right before zero and the second time i fought against her it was in round 3,
depends on when you get the score needed to fight her as you need to get a score of about 300 to fight against her,
or something near that region, she is lame to beat to,but a nice character and the backdrops freeze too

Exactly EX_andy, this is the only way to beat it even if it's not very courageous.

Easy! He can be fooled by Takuma´s slow Haoushikououken.

Maybe Zero is the weakest endboss of the KoF series yet, but at least he is not as unfair as Goenitz or Krizalid.

i think rugal in 98 is the hardest
try beat him without some fireball or air-kick
trick
krizalid is the cheapest when you get
a close fight with him
orochi is the coolest
and at least zero is the best animated
kof boss ever

Omega Rugal 98 is a sucker for slides. Bait him into throwing a fireball (Weak punches and kicks usually works.) and go trip his ass. Falls for it everytime.

I would have rather had a tough boss with a cool design(goenitz). Zero was just a joke, he falls for vanessa's jumping Strong Punch almost everytime.

I really don't like this method because it takes too long. Although my method's rate of success if a little slimmer, it's much faster. Using any character a well timed dash toward Rugal, roll behind him, toss, and repeat will do the job. Also try jumping in from far away enough to make him try and wiff a Genocide Cutter. There's enough recovery time on Rugal's end to allow you to counter.

Sometimes, it's like Rugal is reading my mind, but often enough my method works.

The zero which we fight in kof 2000 is actually a clone. For those who follow the kof 2001 story would know. The original zero in kof 2001 is much better looking and tougher to beat IMO.

Shouldn't a clone look almost identical to the original?

Are they saying that O. Zero is what Tom Selleck will look like with white hair and no mustach?

Yah,he is ugly with that white hair but lookin' good in a sense that he has more frames of animation added to him.I like that fierce looking striker which he summons, the one dressed in green outfit with a mask.He has an intro with Lin.

So no Long in this one? No bald ninja showdown? Were we even prepared for Ignis, or another Zero? This is obvious a game made by outsiders - maybe talented, but outsiders nontheless.
