Is there any way to turn off that pop up here?(not spam related)

Try this. Go to any main board, and just mouse over a topic. You get part of the first post of that topic as a little info 'popup' like when you mouse over an icon on your PC. Anywhere in that 'cell' that the topic link is, if you leave your mouse there for longer than a second you get a little popup.

Is there any way to turn that damned thing off? It's very annoying.

its great for checking war room posts for anything interesting or just one word posts :D

This has nothing to do with the forum.

It has to do with the way web browsers work. They display the ALT tag in a link when you mouse over it.

And no, I dont think there is a way to disable it.

So why does it only work in forums that are the same design as this? The popup does not appear for 80% of the forums I visit, for example gamefaqs.com .

Look at the HTML source. You'll see lot's of "ALT=\"\"" everywhere. It's up to the web designer to disable them.
