Having recently upgraded, I have held back a bit before buying tons of games that I will never play. That said, I dare say before the evening is out I will have bought at least one.

The main game that I have heard about is of course Super Monkey Ball, which I will probably pick up shortly, but I want to try and avoid all the toot and catch the odd decent game that might slip under the radar.

If people could post impressions of games they have got / tried.

I have been looking at Vay since it was posted in the App Store.. only $4.99, how bad could the port be? That's all I'm interested in at the moment.

I have been thinking that the iPhone would be the perfect platform to re-release some classic point and click adventure games from the classic PC era. I would kill for a port of Quest for Glory.

I love QFG...I still have the Anthology disc.

Some Sega guy said the iPhone is as powerful as the Dreamcast.

I was in disbelief for a moment, but now I'm starting to believe it..I mean, SMB doesn't look half-bad on it.

My friend had the basic NES emulator on his 1st gen model --the controls were wonky for RC Pro-Am and Punch-out, but the NES emulator would certainly be okay for a non-precision control scheme like Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

jailbreak your iphone and download ScummVM.

it's probably my most used app now, if you're unaware of what it is, it's a sort-of emulator for all of the old LucasArts/Revolution/Sierra/other point-and-click adventure games, eg; monkey island, sam and max, indiana jones, etc.

if you have the original game files (or can just find them online) you just FTP them over to your iphone and it runs them flawlessly.

jailbreaking also opens the possibility of just downloading cracked appstore apps.. quite easy to do.

The upcoming iControlPad could help solve the control problems.

Bejeweled 2
Trism
-- both great fun games, puzzle games simply "work" on portable devices

Critter Crunch
-- nice puzzle game, but a little more complex than the usual puzzle games... made me recall Money Idol Exchanger

Bomberman
-- not intuitive enough, played it a couple of times only and didn't like it

Chopper
-- fun, simple side-scrolling shooter, gets old fast though

Cro-Mag Rally
-- great graphics, but gets old fast

Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart
-- just like Cro-Mag... looks great, but not worth playing much

de Blob
-- pretty fun, cool looking game

Dizzy Bee
-- nice but simple game, made me recall Loco Roco... we need an iPhone Loco Roco :)

Enigmo
-- interesting and complicated game... made me recall the old "Incredible Machine" games

Wingnuts MotoRacer
-- same as Crash Kart and Cro-Mag, a lot of production value, but not really that fun

Zen Pinball Roller Coaster
-- a nice 3D pinball game with intuitive controls

Tetris
-- fun game... the same Tetris everyone loves, but more colorful and now featuring House music, haha

BubbleBash
-- a Puzzle Bobble clone, fun

Monkey Ball
-- it's like Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, but portable... the control is decent, the music and levels are the same as in Banana Blitz. Everything is in 3D, except the monkeys

Columns Deluxe
-- the controls are shit, plays like a fucking emulator

Ms PACMAN
-- that... simply Ms Pacman, nothing new

Tank Ace
-- a 3D tank combat game... decent graphics, and senselessly fun

Dactyl
-- a very nice and simple game, will drive people crazy, heheh
