Can anyone weigh the pros and cons?

I think I want to do a little "more" than the iPad provides, but still keep the small footprint.

What is the Mac AppStore like? Same apps?

Can I transfer my purchases?

What about my iPad backup? Can I transfer and read it on the Air?

Anything you guru's can tell me?

the air is a full osx experience. honestly for the money you could do much better in the last gen mbp (non retina). the mac app store is pretty much the same as the ios one. think itunes for programs. they have a lot of full software releases on there plus games. also a lot of garbage small apps- so be careful of your buys.

your ipad will backup to itunes, but your ios purchases are different from the osx ones (save for books, music, and movies). there are a lot of the same apps.

Well, I have a lot of app purchases.

I also use what I've bought, save for some $.99 apps.

I have an older g4 iBook which I use for backup.

Also a Mini.

Dunno, I think I may want an Air.

Can't run iOS apps on OS X. Everything must be synced through itunes to get any sort of media purchases to desktop.

A tablet that bridges the desktop to mobile gap? hrm , where have be just been discussing this?

Curious... what does the "more" you're looking to do entail?

I have a 13" MBP and my CIO was looking for something to do more than his iPad. Upon picking it up though, he said it was as heavy as an "anchor." He has an Air now.
