Currently I'm playing Motorheat and Decimation X, two quite cool indie games, it's amazing what you get for only 80 pts. Now I want more, what do you guys recommend?

Protect Me Knight
Epic Dungeon
Jewelry Master Twinkle
Moe Mekuri
Miner Dig Deep
Chieri no Doki Doki Yukemuri Burari Tabi

Just go to the Indie Games section and view them all by rating. You should find most of the good games easily that way.

Protect Me Knight would be AMAZING if i had local people to play with

really wish that game was a full XBLA release with online co-op

also, Fireball is a respectable Geometry Wars clone

I gave up on the indie store after I couldn't show my brother some games while my xbox wasn't connected to the internet.

Well, connect to the internet then.

I know. That argument baffles me as well. I don't know if there are more than two times a year my Internet isn't connected while I'm playing Xbox. Last year I can think of Live going down only a couple of times and that was just for a night's worth of maintenance. The games are a buck, pretty fun, and work as long as you're online. Not sure why people get their panties in a bunch over it.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone, keep them coming!

Didn't know that you have to be online for most (all?) indie games. Doesn't really makes sense to me but I also don't have a prob with it, so, who cares. :)

This is how it is for all XBLIG. If I remember correctly, the reason has something to do with the fact that the games on this service bypass all formal videogames rating boards.

Hm, okay, so I guess they want to keep control to avoid potential legal problems with enraged parents, etc.

I've downloaded demos of most of the indie games mentioned in this thread, will check them out tonight and report back here.

Shoot1Up is awesome, as is that fighter game.

We got the most play out of Zombie Estate...solid little twin stick shooter with a nice upgrade system. PROTIP: the only music track in the game is AWFUL so make your own playlist...we went for an over-the-top cheesefest featuring Weird Al, NSYNC, etc etc etc. Nothing like mowing down zombies to Like A Surgeon.

I have a shitload of indie demos downloaded and several games bought but I can't remember their names for the life of me. Zombie Estate is well worth the dollar though, especially if you have 3 other people to play it with.

The only one I've ever bought was Cthulu Saves the World, its a pretty entertaining RPG with a lot of funny references to classic games. I doubt I'll ever sit down and play through the entire thing though.

So here's my little indie games report:

- Shoot 1UP

Yay, great shmup, has a nice oldschool vibe to it. The formation option is really cool, dunno why none of the commercial dev'ers thought of that, or did they?

- Zombie Estate

Hmm, strange game. Didn't impress me, will give it another try before I delete the demo.

- Battle High: San Bruno

Well, the engine has a few interesting features, I really like the dashing combos and strange supers. Music is nice, too, sounds like classic FM. Visuals leave a lot to be desired, overall BHSB looks a bit like a souped-up Amiga game. It's fun though so I'll spend some more time with it.

Haven't found Protect Me Knight and Fireball in the Indie games list, maybe some of them didn't make it to Europe?

Protect me Knight's title is still in japanese as far as I know, so its somewhere all the way down in the lists.

Thanks, will look for it there. Sometimes I don't see the wood for the trees.

I've also tried Try Not To Fart, silly but fun. My wife kinda likes poo-poo humor so I had to buy the game for her (that's my story and I'm stickin' to it)... :D

Soulcaster 2 is a pretty neat title. I just wrote a review up for it on another site. Gerbil Physics isnt a bad physics game either.

The Radian games series of shooters has been pretty good to date; I have purchased the ones I have played.

I also purchased "Cthulu Saves the World" and I am about half way through.

Seeing the new games releases every week is a treat, though I only download a few here and there, and purchase even less.

For 80 points, if a game can demonstrate some level of innovation and entertain me, I will buy it to support the developer even if I will not be playing it for hours and hours. How much entertainment do you think you deserve for $1.00? (that is why I purchased games like "The Headsman"; pure entertaining madness for a playthrough or three).
