I honestly had no interest in clicking the thread when I saw more than one game in thread title. To me, it's one game, you dive into it, digest it, talk strategy, help each other clear hurdles, etc. More than one game complicates it. Also, too often I just see score posting - that's lame. This isn't everyone and to be fair, like I said, a couple months I never even opened the thread.

You must be referring to the SOTM club. I don't recall participating in any BOTM that had multiple games within the month.

Talk strategy? More like talk to myself strategy.

I like death: He's good at posting whatever he wants.

Although I do post whatever I want all over the forum, I don't know if I understand what you mean here.

Do you mean I post about strategy? Yes, I'm very much into this. I'M GLAD SOMEONE NOTICED, TYRANIX.

My bad, maybe it was SotM...

Right - you talk a ton of strategy - it's appreciated. Most folks post a score and nothing else, or worse, talk for 4 weeks about which version they should try and never even post a score at all.

This stuff is certainly bad for the BOTM/SOTM clubs in many different ways. Even worse for these clubs, is the fact that there are other clubs which reinforce all of the lousy crap that happens in the BOTM/SOTM.

Clubs in which people are required to present tangible evidence of participation are being eclipsed in popularity by clubs where…you talk about which version to play for 4 weeks. No scores or strategy involved here. Perfect Right?

Also, thank you.

EDIT: I'm not trying to shit on anybody's way of fun. But I'll say something similar to what I may have said in the past. The function of these clubs IMO should be to give people an avenue to experience a game they may have never heard of/experienced before, OR to allow people to experience a game in a new light.

The former is self explanatory. The later may entail actually playing past stage 1 or 2. It may entail trying something different. Maybe something alien to their ingrained habits.

Too many people hate games that could end up being their favorites. All of these seemingly boring and rigid things like rules, scores, strats are just means to an end; to find the true nature of a title behind the potentially deceptive surface or beyond one's potentially irrational bias.

Ok, let's see of we can squeeze "strategy" out of the participants.

Shed some light on their score.

I don't think it should be squeezed. It can't be haha. If you don't care you don't care. If you can't explain what your doing, you can't explain what your doing.

But, even if there isn't a single member spearheading strategy oriented posts, I don't see what prevents participants from asking general questions to each other, or making posts that are a little more anecdotal in nature regarding his success or failure.
