It says on that site that you linked to that the capcom converter should be able to power a Naomi + GD if you turn up the arcade psu +5V all the way up.

If you are talking about this site:

http://www.sega-naomi.com/Pages/hardware.htm

it says so with a Naomi 2, but not with a Naomi 1. And still, it all depends on your psu and a bit of luck. That's why realgameplay said it is useful to own a Naomi 2 even if you don't have any Naomi 2 games, as Naomi 2 is backwards compatible with Naomi 1 games.

Different point of view...

GDROM is the reason the Sega set-up is better than the Capcom I/O. GDrom cannot be added without the sega PSU anyway; there are also many controls such as trackball, analog controls, and base ball bats, pool cues etc that will only work with a sega I/O. Anyone that says that the capcom I/O is better does not know very much about Naomi harware and software. While I agree it is better if all you have is a mother board and all you ever plan to own are cart games, there is no reason to go this route and miss out on what the naomi really has to offer. Just my 2 cents, and yes I own each setup.

SEGA I/O >>>>>>>>>> Capcom IO
