I've tried Clipchamp and it does what it's supposed to but then went with OpenShot coz it's free and has none of that MS login shit. Really easy to use, was able to get a clip up and running with a pic with animation and music in less than 15 mins, looks good.
After more than two years of improvised on-the-couch table productions and even more years of general bullshitting music-biz-wise, my new little music studio is coming along nicely, been working on it like crazy for the past few weeks after the holiday season and I'm still far from being finished. I've got the audio and mixer setup down now (more or less) but ran into various sync probs which made me change my original plans completely and go back to Notator on Atari ST as the master of ceremonies with my beloved Casio XW-G1 as slave instead of its former master function. It turned out that ol' G1's DSPs aren't up to the job of controlling a larger MIDI setup, the MIDI-to-DINSync boxes constantly ran out of sync and the synth almost choked itself when switching active patterns or simply muting and unmuting a sound.
I could talk about the XW-G1 for DAYS... it's something special but only for people with a certain level of patience. Don't ever try to find your way around that monster intuitively or you will hurt your brain. A lot.
Anyway, I've done and redone the audio chain and calibrated the mixer and studio room as best I could which means the mixdowns should sound less shit now. I hope. You will decide (if you can be arsed to give the next track a listen, gonna take a while, tho). Let's see what my label boss has to say, he got quite picky with that shit over the past few years, seems that his digital studio thingie has put too much plastic in his brain, so to speak.
That's what I need the video editing software for, to boldly go where I've never gone before. Dunno where that is really but I like the quote.
