I haven't played it yet, but... why's everyone hate SvsC?

Every movie and every screen I've seen makes me very excited to play this game. From what I can tell, it looks solid. I'm super pissed it's not on MVS yet...

ANYHOW, I think the game looks tops, and get excited with every movie I see. Why do so many people not like it? Anyone here like it a great deal? Please, beyond some characters being too strong (bosses, big deal), what's the real reason? Graphics seem okay... and from tourny vids, the play control seems okay. What's the problem???

I want this game, will it come out for MVS at all?

Other than some balance issues, I think svc is great.

I think lots of people hate it because it's not kof '98 or some other shit. Personally I think its a great, refreshing chance of pace.

Cool. Again, I have only seen it, and not played it, but I think it looks nice. Keep in mind, while everyone else was pissed at CvsSNK on DC, I was loving it. I love them all, to be honest.

Maybe I'm fucked up, but I can't wait for this to come out.... erm, IS it coming on MVS? Anyone know for sure? I'm dying for one. Hell, I may have to settle for that boot that's out. Anyone know where I can find a good working MVS of this? :annoyed:

I LOVE SvC!!!

It ranks in my top 3 all time fav NG games for sure.

Here are some reasons why I like it...

-Good presentation through the opening movie, interface, etc...
-Fun announcer voices. Just cheesy enough to be fun but just cool enough not to suck. I Love hearing "game over"
-Fun selection of characters. Especially when you use the hidden fighters. Dimitri, mars alien, and mega man zero are all fun. (so what if they aren't as balanced as the other fighters- they are still FUN!)
-great portraits (not like some of the recent KOF crap)
-Single fighter play. I HATE KOF playstyle with teams. I am a one fighter person- I really enjoy focusing on one character.
-responsive controls. I have heard a lot of people bitch about this- My system works great so I really don't know what they are talking about. I'm sure the arcade they go to just has crap controllers and they blame it on the game.

A couple of things I wish were better...
-Background variation. Some of the backgrounds are interesting but about half of them are fairly lame such as the temple and abandoned station. I wish they were better overall and that there were about twice as many.
-difficulty ramp is unbalanced. Sometimes your first opponent can be rally hard - other time really easy. The big problem is that the last boss is just exponentially harder than anyone else. Getting to the last boss is almost like hitting a brick wall. They aren't impossible but they contrast too much with the other fighters.
-play area feels too small and restrictive. I was hoping they would use the SS style zoom in and out system.

Anyway, I highly recommend this game.:buttrock:

I hated this game at first mostly because of how excited I was over it... and the disappointment that followed.

Now I think it's just .... meh, alright.

I loved Capcom vs. SNK. :buttrock:

Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

I like it since it looks so old school.... well, it looks like I may get it soon, I hope, so I will give my opinion on it as well.

Played a lot of it at the chicago get together , its similar to kof02, i think .Its ok the graphics are weird some characters looked great , others were bleh. Also i found that certain characters were very cheap , all in all an ok game . It did not live up to the hype .

I'm getting it, but from what I have played I think that it COULD have been better. It IS aesthetically balanced unlike CVS and especially CVS2... but the gameplay just isn't all that it could have been, I think.

Its better than CVS but not better than CVS2.

It just feels like it needed a few more weeks of tweaking.

Yeah, it ain't kof. GASP! HOLY SHIT, IT'S NOT KOF!!!!!! RUUUUUNNNNNN.

Rolling isn't any any other games beyond kof and a few others on the Neo. Running and no rolls... so what?

Kev, I respect your opinion. What do you mean about the asthetics? You know me, would I like it?

Bah, that's just the youngin' in you. No running? Give me a break, that's not a very good excuse for not liking a game, I think. Do you guys all hate Capcom games, too (I already know the answer to this).

Yeah, screw Street Fighter 3, there's no rolling or running. :oh_no:

Hate a game cos it has no running and rolling?
Oh okay...

First of all, svc chaos is a new game and definitely new system style of play should/could be expected.
So you can't expect other games to fit your needs.
Saying that is just like saying Svc chaos didnt have the characters I like in KOF! I HATE IT!

I play KOF alot too, and it was hard fer me to play svc at first, but soon I got the hang of Guard Cancels and Dashing...
Also, I learn to tell the difference between svc and kof, that means I won't try to roll when I play svc and try to Guard Cancel when I play kof LOL
I hear my friends complain bout that all the time. xD

The game plays that way. Deal with it.
Each to his own I guess.
But I'll just warn that you'll missing out a lot ;)

For me... do I love svc chaos?
Hell yes... I play it like everyday...
Yes yes, I must agree too many Karates >_<
But also fresh new faces that I totally love like Shiki, Tabasa, Genjyuro, Earthquake, Demitri, Zero, etc...

And just like Spike, I get excited with almost all the challenger vids and combos^^;;
Just cant get enough of it.

Also regarding the controls like Suragu said, I seem to have no problems with them with any characters too(and I've tried 90% of the characters)... so I'm guessing there must be something wrong with your arcade machine joystick or something :\

Its a great game, only thing I don't like is people using the hidden characters to fight with....some are WAY over-powered.:envy:

So, if you don't use them (which most shouldn't/wouldn't) it's good? I wouldn't mind picking some of them to do a single player with.... I love Geese, but beyond that, it's cool, right? I mean, hell, I would pick Omega Rugal in KOF98 and plow through the single player with Ralf and Clark as "body guards". I think it's fun, what's wrong with that? ;)

I think you will like it, but I wouldn't get too excited. What I meant about the aesthetics is that the characters and backgrounds work much better together than in CVS or CVS2... although the Capcom characters are looking slightly out of place, it's nowhere near the hodge-podge that CVS2 is.

It's mostly the balance issue and the throwing. Also Earthquake's hit blocks are really fucked up other than that it's fun as hell!

The dashing in chaos is damn good and powerful like i've said in another thread.
It makes iori's scum gale useful and it makes geese infinite possible.
The guard cancel is also good.Quite different from KOF's one.The game feels new and fresh to me with some old-school style gameplay and sound effects.

I've been playing it all day today and can tell you that almost all the crap people are saying about it is BS.

Bad collision detection? So not true. KOF2002 has tons worse, so you get the idea.

Love almost all the characters, although Chun Li is one overpowered and overprioritized bitch. The gameplay is excellent and is as fast if not faster than KOF2002. The dash is great too and gives you more control unlike the run. If you ran and someone did a DM on you (like Yashiro) then you couldn't do anything about it but that doesn't happen with a dash.

From what I played I gathered that the Capcom side isn't very combo heavy but makes up for that with great priority and especially recovery time after DMs.

All I can say is if you love a little series called KOF then this should be right up your alley.
