I have a really, really big favor to ask (AES identification)

Hiya.

I just won an auction for a U.S. mint AES Last Blade 2 on eBay a couple days ago...and like the title says, I have a tremendous favour to ask Shawn, Big Bear, and/or any other people who know their inserts/carts. Is it a legitimate version?

I can't provide a link (don't know why I can't-it didn't show up when I tried typing it on my own URL), so you'll have to go to ebay.com, search for Last Blade 2, search completed items, and find it. Seeing how it's fairly recent, you should be able to find it on the bottom of the first page. In a nutshell, the background of the insert looks like a weird "checkerboard" pattern that doesn't look like the pic for the same game at the cart archives.

Again, you'll have to look at completed items to find it-the name of the seller was segarocks and the winning bidder (me) was 1bastion.

You need to ask the seller to send you a better pic.
Its not possible to 100% identify with such a poor pic.

Checker board patterns can happen on any photo of a printed piece like that.
Quite common in fact. It has to do with the
fact that the insert is printed on a press & has a line screen pattern that you will not normally see.
Scanners & cameras see thing better than we do, and in certain lighting can pick up these rescreened patterns from the press.
Happens all the time, & that could very well be what that is.
Cant be positive though, need a clearer look.

If that's a scanned picture, my scanner comes up with pictures like that quite often,

Thanks for the info, guys! I think I'll just buy it from him and not bother with more scans-everything seems legit if the background frequently turns up like that.

Ya, it looks like the image was shrunk causing it to distort, it happens all the time. I would doubt that the game is not official.
