pics when you're done or GTFO. LAWL
Well, I finished but I also didn't finish. All buttons work except the D button, I damaged the pushbutton while I was installing it (I know what I did wrong, I can fix it). Waiting for a replacement.

Also, who the hell outbid me when I bid 60 bucks for two oldstyle sticks on ebay last night? Keeping me from getting a ridiculous deal like that is a crime.

FINALLY finished the VGA mod on my dreamcast! It's a huge load off my shoulders as it has been one of "THOSE" projects.. half done and sitting on a shelf somewhere.

For my next mod, I'm planning on making a jamma-cast (everything over jamma :D)

did you take any pics while making the VGA mod by chance? I could see myself making the same mod at some point so I can drop my DC into my tri-sync NAC.

**NEVERMIND, i'm stupid. I forgot there's an existing adaptor I can use for what I need.

Question is, do you want to spend $5 in parts and make it yourself

or spend $35 + on ebay for something made in china that may or may not work?

your call, man.

I have a little VGA board that I made for my jamma dreamcast, if there is some interest I could have a few more manufactured.

Yep thats the one.
It will be $6 or less shipped. (Depends on how much the shipping to get the boards from the shop will be. Guessing $5.)
Since it would be just a small run its a bit more expensive to get these made. It cost me $5 to get 3 made, plus shipping from the pcb shop. And it would take around 2-3 weeks. USA made, gold plated.

Ok, I'll place an order for 6 and I'll let you guys know once I get em.
Btw just in case, these are bare boards only. I will of course supply a list of the components needed.

it's the board to the right

I see how you have it set up.. all printed out, ready to plug parts in like legos.. nice! I like it! did you design this yourself, or did you pay for someone to make the plans?

I designed the pcb. Layout of the components, routing the traces etc.. The circuit/schematic is from someone else.

Hello,

I wouldn't mind a couple of these boards myself if you can still increase the size of the order.

My 360/PS3 padhack for my Blast is complete! I used the Paewang PCBs so I could use either system. I have multiple options to convert the PS3 to VGA. I just recently got an HDMI to VGA converter from Monoprice that is supposed to be good but I have yet to test it.

Button hack is done! Final version has seimitsu screw ins instead of sanwa snap ins. Everything working great, very happy.

Seimitsu LB35 (35mm). The regular black plastic knob is about 32mm at it's widest. I should also put in a longer stick, but I have to find one that fits. I have one here which is very nice, and hollow core so you can put a LED in it, unfortunately it is not one which fits, and I'm loathe to buy another one at $15 without knowing for sure it fits. (if anyone wants a very nice joystick part for $15 shipped, PM me). This is 1000% based on Xian Xi's work, I'm sure he does a nicer job soldering than I do, and probably has a gentler touch on the dremel.

In the middle of a serious project. I'm having video sync issues again with my 360's VGA->Blast City, so I decided to take 300's advice and RELOCATE the remote board from the monitor to the control enclosure. Completed that!

Since the monitor is out, I figured what the hell, maybe I should do something about these speaker grills, which are not only filthy, but partially caved in. OMG, getting these out is going to be serious work. I think I can access the bolts that are in-between the sides of the main body by flexing the plexiglas a little... I'll see how that goes, there are cab parts all over my living room lol.

I'm having some sync issues as well chem. It seems if it is on for a while like 20 min, and then goes to a pause screen, it loses the sync. like playing through a game np at all, second I pause it, black screen, I'm wondering if it's an xbox issue, iirc I left the DC vga on attract mode on for much longer than the xbox, and didn't have issues with it. gonna test dc again tonite.

Nice box jeff! yay for monoprice!

Very strange Mugi. When I tried it for the first time today, worked right away. Second attempt, no image until I toggled the 2nd dip on the remote board. Last week I had the 360 working fine, then I try a PCB, now the 360 is back to the same problem again I was originally having.

I wonder if its related to any HSIZ, VSIZ, Contrast, or Brightness settings on the remote board. Could also be the jamma video connection taking priority (which does need to also be plugged in along with the 360's VGA Cable)...

Chem I'm almost 100% certain the sync issue is only related to the xbox, and to our manual sync monitors. I just tested the dc with the other hackbox I got from lem (thx again buddy). I played through the first 2 levels of Castle of Shikigami 2 and left it on attract mode for about an hour after that. Zero sync problems, and no black screen.

when switching from the vga to a pcb, did you make sure the vga was unplugged? a couple weeks ago, the first time I tried to do that I forgot the vga was still plugged in, and had a bitch of a time trying to get the settings all back to normal. Just the other day I changed some buttons and the stick on my blast and wanted to do an input test, so I threw in a cps2 board, this time made sure the vga wasn't plugged in and flipped the proper switches, the cps2 board (and controller input) worked fine. I immediately unplugged the cps2, threw on the vga again, and flipped the right switches and everything synced perfectly, no adjustments whatsoever.

as far as the xbox goes, I'm wondering (and 300wins mentioned this also) if it is some sort of screen saver. I turned off the screen dimmer in the xbox settings menu, I need to try to turn it back on and see if it still has an issue, but I want to enjoy the dreamcast on there a little more, gonna play under defeat:D
