Just started to get windy here on Long Island. I'm right in the middle, so we weren't told to leave. I think this will be just like Gloria in 85'. The power went out for 20 minutes and we had a couple of broken tree branches, noting major. I remember the only exciting thing was one of our neighbors didn't tie down their kid's Mr. Turtle Pool and the thing flew into our backyard like Gamera then flew out. I think they found it a couple of blocks away in a bush.

The rain doesn't even sound like the beatdowns we were having for the past few days. I think there has been a gross overreaction to Irene. Cross my fingers and hope there will be no power loss though.

Rain just got here at 11, they say it should be bad during the AM hours, which I should be asleep. Don't know how long the power will hold out but since I live a few blocks away from the airport we should be fine.

mopping up water from my basement for the past 2 hours :(

On the "bright side", at least I'm not doing it by candle light yet.

this is lame. shit ignored my area. Just some rain. But nearby Marylanders are complaining their power is out. Probably because PEPCO turned it off on purpose. Shittiest electric company. Glad I live in VA with our underground power lines..

Cooked some lentils, tried to do indian spicing but it came out more ethiopian, which is kind of cool.

I put some frozen popcorn shrimp in the oven and ate some fruit by the foot.

getting too much rain for the ol basement drainage system to handle. i think this will be the last time i put up with this. whole basements getting cleared out and proper drainage once this is over.

Damn, I'm less than five miles from you and didn't get any of that. Power and internet connection were fine all night.

We got some pretty strong winds and I'm sure I'll be picking up lots of loose branches in my yard when the weather calms down, but aside from that it was a pretty mellow night.

Still blusterly as they would say. Lots of wind and light rain. I was asleep for most of it. The pool is almost full but there's a lot of leaves in it. Same with the ground. Some broken tree limbs and a lot of leaves. I was looking out the windows and I saw a tree or large part of it down but can't make out how bad it is. I think the most of it will be done in a few hours. We lost power in the middle of the night but we still have power and internet so all good here so far.

Yeah man I was surprised we didn't lose power. Storm wasn't really much of anything aside from the rain, which kept me up until 5:30 am mopping it up constantly in my laundry room.

I know that the Pike Creek, New Castle, and areas around Elkton lost power late last night, I'm not sure that they've gotten it back yet either.

New Castle got some pretty crazy flooding too. Fallon posted this up on her Facebook.

Hopefully you were able to get thing cleaned up ok.
