How will "AES2" affect prices?

Looking at the released picture of the new Arcade Solutions system, I noticed that it has slots for both MVS and Home carts. How do you think this will affect the prices of Home Systems? Will they drop? Will MVS prices rise?

Because mvs are so common, it will stay the same.

I think it will make people more interested in MVS , but the price is the key. If its too much the they might just go the supergun/MVS board route instead.

As to the Home system i cant see it affecting that.

I think if it affects MVS, it will make the rare MVS games such as Pop n bounce and SDB, Neo Bomberman, etc....more expensive, because now people can play them without a cabinet or convertor. That will only happen though if the AESII is a reasonable price.....just my thoughts.......

meh :sneaky:
you gotta remember people hafta buy the machine and all, also more people will be interested in MVS titles so more demand will definatley be seen, hmm... so people who want to get it might be stocking up on titles at this time <IMG SRC="smilies/mad2.gif" border="0"> well hmm... i think this might be a chance for SNK to make its comeback! people will want to buy both their major items so... if they start over etc etc

I honestly don't see it affecting prices that much...let's face it the people who really wanted to play Neo Geo (that'd be people like us on this board) found a way...whether it be buying a cabinet, a supergun, or a converter...the ability to play MVS carts is already there.

Let's face it...this thing cannot logistically cost much less than a supergun and an mvs would cost.

Let's also consider that the people drooling over this thing (us again) are the same people who have been buying these carts anyhow. I seriously doubt the AES II will get much market penetration beyond the small scale market that already exists. Yes it's a neat product...but it will not have mass appeal...period. This is especially true if the prices of MVS carts DO start to go up...most "average joe" game buyers will not drop a hundred bucks on a game.

While I welcome the AES 2...it'll only minorly expand our niche.
