You can try using some goof off on it to remove the adhesive, but that looks to have removed the top layer of the MK overlay in a bunch of spots when you removed the conversion artwork.

Having the metal panel is good. You’ll only need to buy a new plexi top and you should be all set! You got lucky there.

How much did the cabinet cost if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ve removed the decals on both sides at this point. So from here I need to paint this side before I apply the art?

First off, you’re going to have to remove the monitor and then remove those carriage bolts holding the monitor mounts in place. There are also 4 long bolts securing the control box to the machine. Remove those and remove the control box too. After that you will want to sand the whole side smooth and fix any imperfections with bondo if you want to. Use an orbital sander as they help from creating low spots. Then you will want to apply the oil based paint and then after it drys apply the side art. Do not use latex based paint as it will often times react with the adhesive of the vinyl and eat away at it, causing the art to fall off.

Update on the cabinet. Applied the vinyl the way it was suggested, by sanding and painting. And I think it turned out pretty good. Still needs new t moulding and new controls and a new marquee. The current one is temporary. However I think a did a decent job for the first time.

Ok another update. It’s pretty close to done. All it needs now is a new marquee and plexiglass cover. I think I did a pretty decent job for my first time.

I know it’s been a while but does anyone know where I could find the dimensions for the plexiglass cover for the mortal kombat 1 cabinet? It’s the last piece I need to finish this cabinet and I certainly can’t measure it correctly myself.

The dimensions are on your CP…measure and transfer to a piece of plexiglass & drill holes in the correct spots…

Ok I know it’s been a while but I finally completely finished the cabinet. I initially half asses the side art by not sanding or painting; and therefore it adhered like shit. I finally decided to do everything properly and finish it. I properly sanded and repainted the side, added a hole for the block button and bought a mortal kombat 1 pcb. Bought replacement vinyls from szabos arcade. I think the final product turned out looking fantstic.
