How do you view your Laserdiscs?

In this modern world of wide HD digital screens LD's get impeded by their nature, i wonder what lengths you go to to view yours?

I have an HD CRT and while the quality is good, im viewing a floating box or a P&S image flanked by black bars, bit of wobly geometry on one side too!

I do have a 4:3 Sony in waiting but havnt sorted out my dedicated LD set up yet.

Never tried Lasers on a flat panel, imagine they look pretty dodgy, any experiences.....who zooms in or do you keep the aspect true?

I was going to say "through a time machine", but I see "get with the times junk hoarder" was good enough for me to vote for.

widescreen hd crt, zoomed to fit.

arent a lot of lds anamorphic? so youre kinda supposed to zoom. its been a while since i've watched one i forget.

id say best bet is a non hd widescreen crt, not too many of those around though.

A big old school TV. LD's are a waste of an HD screen.

Those of you who zoom in, when you say zoom to fit does it actually appear as an anamorphic dvd would, the most zoom i can get is 14:9 and its still a floating box:eye:

If I'm watching a letterbox LD I use "zoom", which fits the picture horizontally and keeps the aspect ratio (chopping vertically). If I'm watching an anamorphic I use "full", which stretches it out to 16:9.

I run mine over composite on my Sony 32" 4:3 Wega set...they look really good on that TV. I tried hooking the player up to either my 51" CRT Hitachi 16:9 or my LG 42" LCD and both look like shit...we, the Hitachi REALLY looks like shit, the LG is ok.
