High damage 1995.

I played Fatal Fury 3 for the first time in something like 4 years yesterday. I still love the game as much as I did back when it first came out but I totally forgot about the 1995 high damage. 3 or 4 special moves and most of the fights are over.

Seems like most of the fighters SNK released in '95 had crazy high damage (Fatal Fury 3, KOF '95, Samurai Shodown III and Savage Reign). The only one that didn't suffer from high damage was Real Bout.

I figure they set the damage high to crunch more quarters but who knows at this point.

I thought that until SF2 was released, just about every vs. fighter had high damage. The original SF, Karate Champ, the vs. mode in Pit Fighter. Two or three good hits will end a round.

KOF 95 is my favorite and LEAST favorite cause of the High Damage. The backgrounds and music are some of my favorites, but one mistake and half your lifebar is gone. Very little room for error in that game

That's exactly why I love and hate the 1995 fighters. You can end rounds quick if you press the offense but if your defense falters even in the slightest then its game over before you can even blink.

I never thought alot about this until this post, but SS3 was a love hate relationship. I remember back in the day going to arcades and getting SO excited that I could kill the first couple guys in seconds flat...then hitting the boss and getting my ass handed to me. Not only that, but watching my cherished ( small ) stack of quarters diminish before my eyes as rounds ended quicker than most de-virgin-izations.....
