What course should I be taking in college/university if I wanna be a game artist like Kinu Nishimura (Capcom), Senri Kita (SNK/Capcom), Yoshitaka Amano (Square), or Tetsuya Nomura (Square)??????? Thanx!
Take illustration, painting, human figure studies, digital art, etc. courses. If possible, try to find a university that has a degree specifically for that line of expertise. Build a portfolio and try to network with other artists in the field. And, if you want to work for a Japanese company, learning Japanese would help.

Hey Seba Boi, you live in North VAN?? Im your neighbour, im in Richmond BC- Dude you ask about wanting to improve your skills or have a start out in the field of drawing-As afroementioned By "M"- LIFE DRAWING,figure drawing...cant stress that enough- object drawing, perspective classes, media classes in 3d animation, you need some sort of base to start off of.
Vancouver Film School located down town Vancouver(BURRARD and Pacific), if you arnt in any classes yet - show up on Sundays at 2pm to 5pm in the afternoons usually they have models that come in and pose , its a free class for anyone that wants to join, (im usually there every sunday myself)and the admission is 5bucks.......while you are there you could ask the instructor and look at other peoples works, especially the ones of the animation students them selves- I tell ANYONE that they Can do it,anyone can draw. first you have to have that passion / desire to be creative and actually want this- and throw in a ton load of Practice, spirit, practice, determination and .....oh yeah PRACTICE. it all depends on how BADLY you want to become an artist in this field........
GSHBlack: I still need to get a loan for my courses... But that thing you said downtown sounds intersting!.... And it's near Burrard?... I can just take the bus and Sea Bus to get there!...
