I also had some probs with the edit time limit but the abuse potential in the selling forums and other places where reputation is involved is too high to get rid of it IMO.

I'm not exactly sure who or what abused it in the first place, but I still think having the limit does more harm than good. Whatever.
now can somebody please unsticky the high scores thread in Gameplay, seeing how the list on the first page is pretty worthless now and we obviously don't want to encourage people to post high scores around here? Thanks.

Its a damn shame the High Scores page is unused now.....it was a great goal to oust someone elses high-score & made all us gamesplayers even more competetive,....Hey BBH....i came so close to your Last resort score....i don't bother now...as the table is not recognised anymore....

A lot of people posted in/kept up to date with this thread for ages and now all of a sudden it's useless because you can't edit the first post anymore?
A player who is serious about his scores will post them in the latter pages of the highscore thread as well. Of course this isn't as nice and convenient as having them all on page one, but I'm sure there would be someone with free web space who could host an editable ng.com highscore list, I know I'd gladly donate webspace/bandwidth for that, complete with the official ng.com layout/color scheme and all that jazz.
Btw., we had quite some "members" here who edited out/deleted posts and content to cover their tracks, scammers and spammers really love ultd. edits... sorry if the edit limit seems stupid to you guys, but it had been implemented for good reasons.

I completely disagree. I think the edit should be completely changed to 600 seconds tops. That gives members ample opportunity to peruse their posts and correct any mistakes. The idea isn't to treat members like kids but to maintain every post on the site for posterity. It hardly hurts to just post one more time in the thread.

And yes, it is pretty much useless when the whole point of the thread was to have the list in the first post.
in other words, don't bother posting your scores on the forum, do it somewhere else. Got it. Nobody on neo-geo.com actually plays their games anyway, who are we trying to fool?

I'd love to shift the current ng.com focus form a free-form spamfest to more gameplay-related stuff, but I'm not in charge here, and typing my ass off in countless gameplay threads did not help either.
Just wanted to help/make a suggestion. Not anymore, that's for sure.
