wasabi said:why the fuck would we want to change that? keeps people from going back and editing really old stuff to cover their asses. That window of time should in fact be truncated.
BBH said:what exactly are people editing out to "cover their asses"? If you guys are so afraid of that, why not turn on that "show edit history" for the rest of the forums, not just the War Room? Seems like a much more reasonable solution to me.
BBH said:I'm not exactly sure who or what abused it in the first place, but I still think having the limit does more harm than good. Whatever.
now can somebody please unsticky the high scores thread in Gameplay, seeing how the list on the first page is pretty worthless now and we obviously don't want to encourage people to post high scores around here? Thanks.
Takumaji said:A lot of people posted in/kept up to date with this thread for ages and now all of a sudden it's useless because you can't edit the first post anymore?
A player who is serious about his scores will post them in the latter pages of the highscore thread as well. Of course this isn't as nice and convenient as having them all on page one, but I'm sure there would be someone with free web space who could host an editable ng.com highscore list, I know I'd gladly donate webspace/bandwidth for that, complete with the official ng.com layout/color scheme and all that jazz.
BBH said:Um, actually it died off around 6 months ago, which was pretty much around the same time the edit limit got enforced. It's possible that the apathy of people kicked in at the same time and it's completely unrelated, but yeah.
And yes, it is pretty much useless when the whole point of the thread was to have the list in the first post.
in other words, don't bother posting your scores on the forum, do it somewhere else. Got it. Nobody on neo-geo.com actually plays their games anyway, who are we trying to fool?
Still requesting that the thread be unstickied, please.
