Because you damn well should have!

No, seriously, go load up the Castlevania title of your choice and kill some vampires.

No, but I'm thinking I should pop in Super Castlevania 4 tomorrow now that you mention it.

So far this year I've finished Castlevania (NES), Super Castlevania 4 (SNES) and Syphony of the Night (PS1).

I started Castlevania 3 (NES), but my emulator lost my save state and I didn't feel like starting over.
I understand some people would consider the use of save states cheating. I have limited time on break at work for game play, when that time is up... No excuses, back to work.

I'm trying to save my favorite, Dracula X (PCE) for last. Also, its easily the one I've played the most. I wish I still had a DS, I miss Dawn of Sorrow (even with its touch screen gimicky lockaway boss crap).

Castlevania 3 for me at the moment. Easily my favourite classic installment. Out of the DS games I would say Portrait of Ruin is the best; I think OoE isn't good. I can't put it into words, but it just doesn't feel right.
Bloodlines has such a good soundtrack that i play it just to listen to the music.
I trust everyone is familiar with the Dracula Perfect Battle Selection albums? If not, look that shit up. Now.

I've always lijked the idea of Simon's Quest but felt the game was just too limited by the technology. I've only ever played through it once.

I remember that even back then, I loved the idea of character customization and growth, and I loved being able to equip stuff in the game, rather than picking up random weapons, and non linear exploration. This was light years ahead of its time, but also kinda too frustrating to play through.

Because of the annoynig factors of the game, I was so relieved by what they did with III, which also featured some customizaiton with the sidekick options and branching paths.

But definitely, this game is in the DNA of a lot of Castlevanias that came after, especially from Rondo on.

If Simon's Quest had a map on select I think the game would have been more enjoyable.

It probably still wouldn't have helped unless you know that you need to kneel by a lake to open a secret passage down.

I'm probably the only person on the site who played a GameBoy version this weekend. Belmont's Revenge has some sweet level designs.

I just recently finished MoF on 3DS.

I won't need another fix until Castlevania II or Super Castlevania IV appear in the eShop.

You probably are my friend, I look at CV: Legends from time to time but never bring myself to load it up :(

Haha. Took me a while to figure that one out when I first played the game.

Also, Save state is only cheating when used on Ninja Gadien

I need to get back into playing Castlevania. Symphony of the Night was a great start, but I really enjoyed Circle of the Moon (despite of it being somewhat clunky) and Aria of Sorrow because of the item collecting. Damn, do I need to get back into those games!

it was a great reinvention of the series. people were angry for some reason that so many of the awesome gba games were released in a short period of time. fuck them. i really miss castlevania.

now that IGA has left konami, we'll never get a proper 1999 Julius Castlevania
