Lasers pointed at planes is increasing, and, of course, Florida is the hot spot. They had a story about it on the news this morning and they did arrest a 17 year old who is now facing felony charges, but, they also said it's hard to catch the people and most get away with it.

You need a decently powered laser to be able to do this which is probably strong enough to be seen at the origin too. Ain't gonna do that with the cheapo pointers but strong laser pointers are readily available on AliExpress for anyone to buy from China, which makes sense considering who made the thread.
