IGN is calling it "The best game evar!!!"

I'm inclined to agree... the sheer scale of this game... nearly boggles the mind... I'll reserve final Judgment for when I complete the story mode.

Sorry, for yet another Topic... but the others Today seemed a bit stale...

I skipped some classes today and spent all day playing the Game (About 12 hours)

15% Completion, 28 missions completed... and I Just Reached San Fierro... it's absolutely fantastic.

What do you folks say? How Far are you...and is it living up to this TREMENDOUS hype?

I will say at times the GFX get choppy... other than that and small annoyances here and there....the game is bliss... The Soundtrack is awesome as well....

I'm not playing it obsessively, plus I just run around a lot and work out/eat/jog/swim so I'm not far at all.

It seems a little more buggy than previous GTAs, like I get stuck in my car and it takes a couple seconds for me to regain control. ...but that's about the only complaint I can muster. It's pretty damn near perfect. To me, it's as big a leap over Vice City as GTA3 was over GTA2. I'm loving the Respect system.

And it's not the "greatest game of all time." Maybe the entire GTA franchise sneaks into my personal top 20, but c'mon...it's a little premature to start bringing out that big of praise.

yeah sheer brilliance in my book.

lives up to the hype easy id say.

the frame rate problems (at times) the pop up etc is a pain but you can see the scope of the game is quite beyond the capabilities of the system.

definitely takes game of the year for me :)

I just started playing the game last night... and I'm stuck on the drive by mission. I go to the Cluckin Bell drive thru like it says ... but wjen I get there nothing happens. :(:( I guess I must be doing something wrong. Guess I should of bought the guide ... but I hate cheating to get to the end.

U went to the wrong cluckin' bell. There's another one. The map is too small, but it's there.

IGN is fucking ridiculous.

I think I will go as far to say as...

This game is possibly the best game ever...by an American Developer. (For the most Part I believe)

Also this game really is incredible... It's given me a level of fun and awe/wonderment... That I can't remember... Since I was a Small Boy Playing Super Mario Bros 3 on my NES.

To me SMB3 and GTA:SA feel similar to me... because of the raw ammount of freedom you get... and withing the confines of the game you can do pretty much whatever you want.

In SMB3 for me... I was awestruck the first time I started flying around with that little Raccoon Tale. (A first for the Series) With this GTA It's a Whole State, circa the mid 1990's.

Shenmue 1 was far more impressive freedom-wise considering the era and the hardware...

Agreed but Shenmue even had its constraints... I'd say Shenmue had far more indor environments... pick up everything etc...

GTA has far more customization, and the State San Andreas is Much larger than Shenmue's Worlds...

Also like I mentioned before US developers versus others... GTA - US dev, Shenmue - JP Dev.

How did you see what he said if he's on your ignore list?

PS: I have played the new GTA... it's better than Vice City but GTA was never my cup of tea... I could never get into that series.

As far as US developers go Half-Life is 50 times the game GTA is.

I think is much better than the previous two. It has so much customization I don't understand how Fable's material got cut. So far I like it. This shall keep me busy until Halo 2.

I watched my brother play it. Theres some cool stuff but, all they do is add more stuff from my observation. They never actually fix anything its all just addition. I mean the same running trick is in there the same 20-50 some phrases said by the pedestrians. GTA was very innovative in its freedom aspect true but, it never lived up to the hype IMO. Now its GTA+Sims.

and I also preferred the high end scale criminal ways of GTA3 the yakuza and mafia are big +'s in my book. I dislike the whole ghetto gang stuff. I prefer the high society of the mafia and the yakuza.

Guess some of the stuff is just personal gripe. Ah well I still remember that rockstar DID make State of Emergency ha....ha....ha

Half-Life absolutely crushes any game in the GTA franchise, but Half-Life absolutely crushes just about any game ever, so GTA's in good company.

The farther I get in this game, the more thoroughly impressed I become. The motion-capturing is hysterical (not because it's bad, but because it's so natural).

Or, he could just suck it up and buy his own shit, instead of leeching off of his roommate. :spock:
