GTA: Sin City Confirmed
Complete with release date.

January 05, 2004 - It's not uncommon to find listings for unannounced games on retailers' lists. Because they have to update databases and prepare for the launch of a game, retailers are often privy to release information earlier than even much of the press. Such is the case with the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series, Sin City.

Rumored for months to be either Sin City or San Andreas, it looks like Vegas won out. A search for Sin City on Amazon's UK site will pull up a page for Grand Theft Auto IV: Sin City, scheduled for release on November 4, 2004 in Europe. The console of choice listed is not surprisingly the PlayStation 2, but with last year's release of the Double Pack, an Xbox port is not out of the question.
We know absolutely nothing about the game outside of the title's implication that the game will take place in Las Vegas-like city - perfect, considering the theme and tone of the previous games. We can only assume that Sin City will use a modified GTA 3 graphics engine, and that the game will be a small evolution for the series as opposed to a revolution.

We attempted to contact Rockstar Games to get an official comment, but the company had nothing to say, not even a "no comment."

We'll have more on Sin City as it happens.

I dont know about you guys, but a grand theft auto in las vegas might be pretty cool.

I wasn't a big fan of the previous ones, so i hope they really make a major overhaul if they want to make me interested.

The past three days I've been playing through Vice City again and I have to say that despite all the back-and-forth love/hate crap that the game has gone through, it is legitimately a well-rounded fun game that I am enjoying immensely all over again.

I was also thinking today that hopefully the next GTA installment has a major overhaul in the gameplay department, perhaps a revamped combat system and some more on-foot/indoor gunfighting elements, and at the VERY least, some puzzle elements as well.

I will not fall for another GTA3 -formula game, twice is enough.

Massive deathmatch would kick ass.

Team deathmatch cops and robbers style.

Some play as cops and the others as robbers.

I like the idea of joining a gang and defending/gaining/losing your turf.

I might be interested in the series if they went online, but as of right now, the GTA games suck.

It would be interesting if they set it during the period when Las Vegas was under Mob control. Working for Bugsy Siegel... come on, you didn't think ALL those sand dunes were natural, did you? They had to have someplace to hide the bodies. ;)

Probably not until the next gen, this thing chugs along slowly on the PS2 as it is. I think we won't see anything like that until the hardware gets an update, but I too agree it would kick ass and its most likely the next step for the series.

btw, I'm counting the days, or should I say the hours till Nov 4

Well actually, no. Vice City was a sequel to GTA3 and not a sequel to the GTA series. Kind of like Final Fantasy X-2 not being FFXI.
-->GTA3-2? :D

Or a prequel, if you want to get technical and faggoty.

I got a Vice City t-shirt free from Gamestop one time cuz they fuct up on something, but I don't see why everyone thinks this game is so great. I personally don't like it.

Hopefully the time spent will be used to fix all the F****en bugs in the game. I had a really hard time enjoying vice city because it crashed and deleted my files and no I wasn't using cheats. The concept is awesome but, the game needs some tweaking. I don't like the controls and there are some really annoying aspects. I have hopes because Rockstar is taking their time with this game and not rushing it. We'll just have to see though

I was reading in EGM ( ) that Eminem and 50 Cent may do voices for Sin City. I hope not.

GTA in any form will be lame, it is overhyped and sloppy. The only reason the game is popular and gets such good reviews is because it really broke the violence barrier that a lot of other companies were afreaid to go through. Buggy, repetitive, lame plot, the list goes on...

Rumors say that Rockstar has decided to drop numbers from the GTA games. So Vice City would be 4, and "Sin City" [still speculation] would be 5.
