got my cps3 third strike... why's nothign happening?

Power supply is fine, as I've ran my other kit on this, the motherboard works fine... and finally the slot MAY be dirty... how would you suggest I clean this? I don't think that's true, but who knows. Many on here have said they've seen this black screen. I'm afraid I'm screwed, but who really knows?

Do you know anyone with a working third strike kit? That would be the only way to trouble shoot it. Swap 1 part at a time to working system then when it doesn't work bingo you know what is wrong. I would test the cart first, my guess that is the problem. I know of atleast two other people that get a black screen after the battery was changed.

I am in the same position. I have 2 black screened SFIII 3rd Strikes. I do, however, have a working 2nd Impact. I'm going to swap everything and see what happens, later this week. I talked to George, at Eldorado games. He said the cart is dead. It's the suicide battery. He told me, unconfirmed, that the cart can be sent off and fixed. He said it would run anywhere between $100-$150. I called Capcom's U.S. division, today. I was told their coin op department was dissolved in '04. She directed me to betson.com. I called them and they were closed. I'll keep you posted, on the swap. If that doesn't work, I'll let you know what I find out on shipping it off.
