Well on the neo Sengoku 2 and 3 are both decent. The Konami ones you mentioned are good choices, but I like the CPS2 ones better: Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom, Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara, and Alien vs Predator.

I'm pretty sure the online in Slug 3 is about the same as most of SNK's other games. Not very good.. The Konami beat em' ups are all great. Very simple, but if you got some buddies to play them with their well worth it. X-Men and The Simpsons include Japanese ROM sets so it's almost like two games in one. The online in all three Konami games depend on the host's connection. If you've got good internet and your close by other players it'll run alright, but I've played in a lot of VERY laggy games and people leave often.

Scott Pilgrim is pretty good not having online killed it a little for me. It's a great game with buddies but other then that it's like a more simple River City Ransom. Castle Crashers is also very good, but I played the game to death and I'm sick of it. The problem with that is every character fights the same, they just have different magic attacks. Most of them are the same, just with different effects. You can spend a lot of time trying to collect all the different weapons and animals. For me, I just played it WAY too much.

Also, check out Guardian Heroes if you're on the 360. It's well worth it and the online is pretty good from what I've played of it.

I think you question aimed to XBLA games ? If so, did you tried Warriors:Street Brawl ?

No real intricate brawlers yet on XBL. I mean, yes we have some classics but nothing really advanced like Sengoku 3, KOV, Last Gladiator and so on. Brawlers have evolved quite a bit, most people don't realize this 'cause they're still playing the classics, nothing wrong with that but it has me wishing there were some more intricate brawlers available.

I recommend downloading Streets of Rage Remake V5 if you can find it. All of the Torrent sites should have it.

Oh, cool. Saw this project many years ago, didn't know what they made Final v.5. Sadly what Sega banned this project :(
BTW, just another company becoming morons. RIP SEGA.

They were ok with it until they saw how good it was which was a threat to them. you can still find it if you look though. It's a GREAT game. 10 out of 10 if you ask me. I don't think Sega themselves could have made a better SOR game.

It really looks like cheap flash port of Guardian Heroes :D

Seems same will happens with Sonic Fan Remix :(
Regarding SORR - already got it, need some time to adopt myself to SOR dynamic, especially after Capcom beat'em-ups. As for music and graphics - imo original music sounds better, and as for graphical enhancement - don't really saw big difference with filtered originals. Looks like upscaled original sprites with photoshop plugins. But anyway for group of homebrew individuals, guys made astonishing job. Way better, than Sega can do with just ugly emulation ports to modern consoles, instead of making great sequel or redrawing all graphics in HD.

They have another one with HD graphics called "Streets of Rage 4" but the game was never finished and it doesn't have as much attention to detail as SORR does as far as things like multiple paths, expanded levels etc.

I feel weird suggesting Final Fight, it seems so obvious, but it comes with Magic Sword so you definitely get your moneys worth.

I like arcade boards for Beat-Em-Ups & Hack-N-Slash games. IMHO, you can't go wrong with games like:

AVP, DOUBLE DRAGON, D&D: TOD, D&D: SOM, FINAL FIGHT, GOLDEN AXE, KING OF DRAGONS, NINJA GAIDEN, PUNISHER, TMNT, WARRIORS OF FATE,

If I had only one quarter: then I'd play either DOUBLE DRAGON or FINAL FIGHT. Games are classic SSBEUs.

That's a great list Tyranix. I played my Final Fight last night. The game is timeless, I don't think I'll ever get sick of it.
