As the subject says, Goenitz is the cheapest character in the whole damn game. I can never beat him without losing at least twenty times. Granted, I do indeed suck at SVC so far but still....this guy is Cheap!!!

To show my lack of modern fighting game knowledge, I've never seen this guy until SVC:Chaos.(what game is he from?) I have problems with him too, and he is pretty cheap, but I can beat him. I can't stand whatever his projectile attack is, that lightning or whatever that you never know where its going to strike. It's hard to get in close to him, but when I do get in close I send him to Mr. Sandman.

Everytime I fight him I get his signature move that he does endlessly stuck in my head.

Goenitz is the final boss in King of Fighters 96, he's part of the Orochi storyline and the Heavenly King of Wind. Yeah, he's pretty cheap but many nowhere had he been cheaper than in King of Fighters 96. With the implementation of roll, he just pulls those wind pillars all day and when you come in past the pillars he just snuggled up to you, grabs and throws you or combos you up.

Just fireball him once, he's gets frustrated and jumps into you. It's pretty easy.

Ok thanks, I really have no idea who about 1/3 of the characters in this game are, or where they come from. I'll slowly try and figure all of them out.

My best technique for Goenitz is to try to fight Dan instead.

I found the best way to beat him is, NEVER jump. If you just walk and block when ever he uses that tornato move you will get close to him and he'll stop. Kind of dash a bit forward, walk a little, block, repeat untill you are close to him.

Goenitz is easy as hell in SVC, nothing close to 96. (on level 8, too)
Dash forward, block. Do that until you get close to him. When you're close, block low, he'll always try to trip you down. Then punish. Not hard at all.

Like somebody said above, just walk and block. You'll cover good ground while doing this, and then he'll start acting dumb and the match is yours.

I just turtle in the corner till he gets tired of that damn wind pillar and just walks up to me, then I destroy him. But due to time constraints, sometimes I just wait till the clock runs down after I fuck em up a few times.

1) Fireball his ass and he'll eventually move in, then you can combo.

2) Dash, block, dash, block, until you get in and combo up.

Mainly just try to keep the distance close and don't try to jump in, you'll just get tossed by that wind shit.

That's why I love him! :glee:

I just dodge his wind attacks and when I get up close I show no mercy. Don't give Goenitz a chance to attack and he'll go down easily.

In KoF '96 however.... o_O I wish you the best of luck on beating him.

This is seriously the most surfire way to ruin Goenitz. Any character with a projectile move will work for this. Characters like Ryo however are a little harder, but Goenitz has some pretty retarded patterns. For instance, jumping in D and then crouching D will almost ALWAYS send Goenitz into that "claw your face" combo, which is easily blocked or jumped over, allowing you to fall behind him and jump in D and crouch D again.

That's the best way of defeating Goenitz, I did that all the time and sometimes I even get a Perfect (Level 8).

On a similar but off topic note, one time when i went to a friends house I brought along some of my kof's, one of which was 96, and when i got up to goenitz and proceeded to get my arse handed to me, my friend couldn't laughing at that retarded fuckin' phrase and the fucked up way in which he says it. He nearly freakin' piss him (no really), and now, as a result of that encounter he help but to randomly sound off koko desu-ka when ever i start a kof related conversation.

Earthquake's move where he disappears and falls on him seems to work really well.

Speaking of Earthquake, I find him harder to beat on level 8 than Goenitz, even Violent Ken.

They don't have to connect, just throw them out like there's no tomorrow. It usually takes 3-4 for him to give up and charge at you.

It's because his hit blocks are all screwed up and no right. Also about Goenitz take the match slow. It's alright to time out him. Just move in slowly and keep your hand on the back
