Well my NON-Kickstarter "In stock' copy of Gladmort finally showed up today. Not sure if it actually wasn't in stock when I ordered it, or if they'd had too much cheese & croissants to be bother to git off their asses an toss the damn thing in a box an ship it out.

I certainly am not gonna pre-order that next MVS cart they're releasing. Don't care for the lazy/slow behavior or the basically complete lack of customer service. They never emailed me about any delay. Never emailed me that it shipped. An never provided ANY tracking info at all on it. SMH...
How's the game?

How's the game?
So far I'm enjoying it. Haven't got a ton of time w/it yet as I've not had any of my Neos hooked up for a while. I always enjoyed GnG an obviously Gladmort is very heavily GnG inspired. Feels a lil like GnG w/a little bit of Slug mixed in. Will def be playing it more soon when I feel better as I'm not doing well right meow

How long from when you ordered it till they actually shipped it?
Hey sorry just seeing this now, for some reason I stopped getting notifications on post updates from ng.com years ago. To be honest I'm not sure how long it took? Mine was a Kickstarter copy I bundled with a Dreamcast copy so my shipment was delayed to being with. So I don't think thats the same as you ordering a copy from them directly.

On a side note, my MVS copy no longer plays for some reason. Or to be more exact, I cannot start a game after adding a coin. By any chance to you recall the default settings in the Soft Dip? I'm running my Gladmort in the 2 slot MVS I have mounted in my Unico Nova Blast candy cab, but I remember I had this same issue when I first got the cart, then went into the Soft Dip and changed a setting that I wasn't familiar with, as in it wasn't your usual sound, lives etc. I cant for the life of me remember what I changed but that fixed the coins / start problem at that time. Of course I didn't take any pictures of the settings because of course that would be using my brain! Well now I went to play Friday and the game wouldn't start again, but I don't see any setting in the Soft Dip to change anything. Its in "Arcade" mode and changing it Home (I think) lets you run in but its in AES mode, not MVS which is what I want.

Any help or if you could post a pic of your Soft Dip menu it would be appreciated. This is really pissing me off...

Yeah I'll go check out my soft dips shortly for ya. Gonna hafta look up how to git into that menu bc I can't for the life of me remember how you access that on an Omega

How's that Nova Blast treatin ya? I keep thinking about picking one or two of those up as it'd tick a lot of boxes for a cab for me when ya take my long rona fuk'd health into consideration. I like the 2 piece construction, lighter weight, an modern display. I just can't really fuk w/the weight of "real" cabs anymore or much fuk around with keepin a CRT runnin

Thanks, I don't have the Uni BIOS in my MVS boards, its on my to do list. I needed the Soft Dip settings from the MVS setup menu, but its OK I found the setting it allows you to switch between Home and Arcade on the cart itself. I think this is what I had to change when I first got it but I can't say for sure (I dont think this was the setting though, because I had the exact same issue with the cart when I got it). Could be old age, they say the mind is the first thing to go.

I like the Nova Blast, nothing beats a cab made out of metal. It takes some getting used to being in front of a 26" screen and THAT close, but a few tweaks to the settings and its a lot of fun. What sucks is the coin mechs do not work with the MVS board (different plugs) which would have been cool since Unico sent me a whole bunch of Unico tokens to use. Also, there is no way to switch between cart slots on a 2 slot board, despite asking them during development to make it an option. There is literally a button between the left player and right player add coin button that does nothing, which would have been perfect for this function.

Are you able to save on the Omega? (Assuming you have the VMC option). I can't which I found strange that they didn't include Memory Card support in a Neo Geo game...

No change I'm afraid, I think its my cart as I tested Xeno Crisis and it starts and works just fine, add coins, 1 player start etc.

Question: when clearing the back up RAM are you supposed to get a confirmation of some kind? I tried it from the MVS test menu as well as booting the cab with all DIPS on. Will all DIPS on you just get that testing RAM message or something like that, never goes away. From the test menu when I hit ABC it just goes to the next screen.

Not sure you did the startup one right, but yeah, no confirmation for hitting ABC in the test menu is normal. If you go into book keeping the data should be gone.

Press Test button (not sure how to do that on your supergun but should be a way), then select Soft Dip Settings and pick the game by title.

Only board I've got to run on one of my superguns is the 1B from my IM kit. Guess I could see if it'll let me get to the soft dip settings.

I guess I meant the Omega, is there no way to get into the test menu on that? Would seem odd to me.

Edit: hold BCD during boot/Unibios splash screen to get to the soft dip menu

OK thanks man they it must have been the "mode" setting but I could have sworn it was something else. Your Omega is set to free play, correct? I know mine is. I really don't want to open it up and change the DIP setting. I've tried my cart on two different MVS boards and I can't start a game on either one now so its got to be a cart problem. Do you have the VMC installed and can you save to it from Gladmort? On mine there is no option to save so I am curious about that as well. I'm waiting for Pixelheart support to get back to me but so far crickets after 2 days...

Yeah my Omega is set to free play as I'm pretty sure they all are. Yup, got VMC in mine as well. Not seen any save/load option yet so doubt it has that option.

Also I'm gettin some odd graphics shit goin on. At times it loses color for a short period. An sometimes does other weirdness. Not tried cleanin errything yet to see if it's a dirt problem or what. Guess I should pull my main Omega out an try that as this one I've got hooked up was my backup unit that I'd not tried out before.

Good luck w/pixelshart "support". My limited experience w/it is that it doesn't rly exist...

Hmm, I tried the cart in an OMVS that I have and it threw up a green error message about dirty contacts or something, I just assumed the game didn't work with it but I clean them anyway see if anything changes.

Two Omegas?
Yup. Quite fond of the first one I got so grabbed a second. So not only do I have a backup if one dies (it's not like it was mass manufactured an you can go pick one up like an Xbox at a game store). But I can also use em both for 4P League Bowling. Or one can be running XYX & Project Neon on my vert tv setup while the other's runnin the normal games. Plenty of reasons to have more than one method of running MVS carts. I'd bet you've got more than 1 MVS board around yer place...
