Where I’ve lived a mudroom is usually a side or ancillary entrance, not the front.

Can I get an opinion on this from some of my fellow autists?
Our mudroom is on the side/back, where we keep jackets and barn boots. There is a foyer at the front door…

I have read the word mudroom in this thread more than I have ever heard in my entire life, which outside of this thread comes to the number of ZERO.

Mudrooms aren't a thing here in Vegas because rain/snow isn't a thing. Friend of ours in Seattle has one and it's right at their entrance so I was based it off of that.

How would the other dogs stay alive for the time taken for the wife to mummify, without food or water, presumably
Water they could get from toilets or sprinklers. Food, they either were starving when found or resorted to eating a mouse or two if they could find one.

Nice houses have a mud room at the rear/garage entrance.

Everyone will please notice that what the dogs did not do is eat the people, which is what cats do immediately in case after case if left alone trapped in a house where someone has died. Dogs > cats.

Cats don't do that immediately. They do it eventually when they realize in their cat brains that they have no other choice than to starve.

Which, to their credit, is immediately.

Uh. A dog would do that too, eat it's owner
Yeah, okay, Michael Vick. Maybe if you've been beating the dog for years. Otherwise, it never happens. You never see a story about a dog eating its owner. But those stories featuring cats pop up constantly. They can't fucking wait to eat you. Meanwhile, dogs are the ones waiting at a train station for 8 years or whatever after you die. Loyalty > gluttony
