I've seen some gas stations in my town now raising prices to $6.50 a gallon. Out-fuckin-rageous.

I topped out my tank earlier, and got some 92-grade for $1.73.

Ooh, this REALLY stinks. Thanks a whole hell of a lot to the fucking cowards who bombed the WTC and the Pentagon.

What are your gas prices per gallon at this moment?

It's in Cols. OH. The $6.50 is higher than what I had heard- I had heard that some gas stations were going to bump it up to a bad-enough $4.00 P/G.

When I went to top out my tank, there were lines at the gas station. It was packed- BAD. I must have waited about 20 mins. or longer.

Coming form the Oil Industry I can tell you expect prices of Gas to raise. However even if we could no longer export Oil from the Middle east $6.50 a gallon is still outrageous.

There are plenty of Oil platforms in the gulf. Oil fields in alaska and Mexico. The reason they are not used as much is becuase it cost more to pump oil from them then to export. However if oil prices raise I am sure they will be reactivated or vamped up.

Shell Built a billion dollar platform 2 years ago. I am also sure bush would open up the national wildlife perserve in alaska if the needed araised. Hopefully though realations will not be hampered with all middle eastern countries and we can still export.

It's $3-4 in Indianapolis right now. In my area, it was still around $1.75 (87-octance) on my way home. All of the gas stations were completely SLAMMED though. I would have done the same if I didn't get a fill-up yesterday.

I was at my Grandparent's house visiting this afternoon when they got a phone call from a close freind of their's (who happens to own 2 gas stations), and he said that gas just went up 25 cents (to 1.89 a gallon), and that it was going to up past $3 a gallon here overnight. Since I was running almost on E, I ran out hoping to beat the crowds and get some cheap gas. I got cheap gas, but I still ended up waiting like 15 minutes. The lines almost doubled in size just while I was fueling tho. ANd the 3 other gas stations I passed on the way home were even more packed. One place had a line over 20 cars long. I'm anxious to see if gas really does raise that high around here.

Here in North Dallas, all hell was breaking loose.

Im driving up to get gas not thinking anything of it, just low.
Every station had at least 4cars in line.
People were testy & tempers flaring.
Seemed a radio station had just warned that prices were about to hike.

So their I am, sitting for like 20 minutes,
& right as a pump in front of me opens up,
this guys in a half ton whips in off the road,
cuts me off, (I was next in line) & procedes to try & get gas.

Needless to say, Im none to happy. Hop otta my cab,
and stroll on over & place my hand over the
pump hes reaching for.

Took about 5 seconds a sizing up the fact I was about to beat his ass, as I am a firm beleiver that talking should be left to those more charismatic.
Sides, this little punk probably only weighed about 200-210, So I felt quite confident.
Damn I was mad, & its sad, but i was spoiling for that fight.

He & I are doing that stare down thing,
and he ducks his head, & drives off leaving me free to gas up.

Damn, Its insane how people get over shit like that.
I was so mad, I wound up getting a splitting headache.

So far prices have only gone up 10 cents around here. Average increase around the nation or isolated incident?

I went out again today, and the gas seemed to drop back down to $1.60 a gallon or so. Probably because the state of michigan threaten to start handing out fines to gas stations illegally raising gas prices.

I hate people that cut people in line thinking the world evolves around themselves. People like this are some of the most selfish people in the world. I wish you would of beat his ass Nick, he deserved it

Don't get your panties in a bunlde! Apparently, there is a price freeze on oil, so we should not have to worry about high gas prices unless this gets far worse. I don't think gas would be $6.50 a gallon. My old man said that oil might go up to $6.50 a BARREL. The prices would go up, but not to Euro prices (no offense to the Europeans).
Just to be safe, I filled up my ferocious Geo Storm (which only had a quarter of a tank left anyway). It stopped at $8.41, but I topped off the SOB to $8.97! Couldn't quite make it to $9.

No price gouging going on in Virginia. I just tanked up at $1.45 per gallon. Whoever is jacking it to $4-$6 per gallon is just plain raping consumers, and should be prosecuted accordingly . . .

The whoever it is is responsible in KC is handing out fines and prosecuting stations for price gouging anything over 2.00. Which is good, becuse I couldn't find my checkbook to fill up yesterday.

That's what's going on here too Daisuke. There were some stations that got as high as $6.00 a gallon, but from what I hear, some city ordinance or something is going around and slapping fines on the assholes who feel the need to price-gouge in a time like this. It's back down to the $1.50 range for the most part, thankfully...

On a side note, and I hope I'm not getting too off-topic here, but have any of you folks seen violence in your town after this situation? For example, there's a Kwik Shop here locally, ran by Iranians, that got hit the other night. From what I understand, all that happened was some people spray-painted "go home sand nigger" on the walls outside. But then, there's another Arab guy who works a Dairy Mart right across the street, and some people timed it right when he was in there and went in and really trashed the place, and dared him to try anything to stop them. It's sad to hear about this kinda' stuff happening on top of everything else that has went down. I hope you guys have had a little less domestic violence in your towns...

There are silly things going on everywhere:

Provactive Demonstations in front of a Chicago (do people realize that there's a uniquely American phenomena called the Black Muslim movement? Or Malaysians or Indonesians?)
http://www.cnn.com/2001/US/09/13/chicago.mosque/index.html

The elder Bush is asking for American paitence and solidarity: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/wire/sns-ap-brf-attacks-bushs-father0913sep13.story?

There's much, much more...a lot of it going unreported. LA's been rather calm, but that's because we're the most diverse city in the US (there is no majority ethnicity).
