It's not hard to truly appreciate how far modern handhelds like the PSP and the DS have progressed when one takes a retrospective look at dinosaurs like the Game Gear.
Sound sucked, resolution sucked, most games were half-assed by old school small development houses just like on the Jaguar. Game Gear was a far more robust platform that made for a more serious gaming machine. Still, I like the Lynx as a curiosity.sketch said:As a game machine, I think the Lynx was far superior. Even though it had a small library, it had a lot of quality titles.
It does when you intend to take the system on the go, hence the title of it's distinction "portable".Neo Alec said:Battery life on portables doesn't matter.

Black IcE said:Not quite sure which one should be the hummer... the nomad, game gear or turbo express. All three of them need a nuclear power plant to run longer then 5 minutes on batteries.

Like I've been saying, it's a pipe dream. At any rate, with the Game Gear you need the battery pack. It gets 3-4 hours. At least you don't have to buy batteries then. And you can bring it on the bus. I'm not sure if the Nomad will run off the Game Gear pack or not. Maybe someone can confirm that. At any rate, it would be weird to bring a classic system on the bus nowadays anyway. It's more a novelty to keep at home now.oldschool said:It does when you intend to take the system on the go, hence the title of it's distinction "portable".![]()
