Yup!
All the numbered releases are English Clam Cased editions.
I think there are a few others in B/W, you are right about Baseball stars, I think there may be others, but its difficult to be certain because they were only sold in small numbers, and they were also a bit of a mixture of English covers and Japanese?
Also, I think that they were sold in the same format in Japan, so it can be difficult to distinguish the difference.
As for "Ward of Lights" I dont have a clue bud!
I've never seen it, or heard of it. Sorry.

LondonGeezer.
You are going to love Reversi!
Absolutely, one of the most addictive puzzle games ever!
Expect to have to put in serious practice, to avoid a humiliating ass whooping!
Well worth the money!

BTW.
There are some more import titles, worthy of note!
But I didn't include them in my list because I only wanted to include games that dont heavily rely on knowing Japanese!
However, If you wanted to struggle through it, you could also have a look at:
Densha De Go
Ogre Battles
KOF Battle De Paradise
CFC 2
To name but a few!

Oh, and I almost forgot!!!!
Big Bang Pro Wrestling, does support English I think!!!!

Geezer.
My cool boarders has a code "NEOP0075"
If your copy is the European edition, it will have the "CE" symbol, and "ELSPA" age rating (3+) Obviously, English language manual, Cover, and label, and Clam case.

Geezer.
Right, well here is my take on the whole "unreleased" issue.

I was in the process of trying to get some POS material from SNK UK, and Exchange a faulty system, when the pull-out, and subsequent closure of SNK-UK, with the ineviatable loss of jobs etc, was announced.
Because of this, I was in contact with a couple of their employees, including the MD's PA. I dont think they had many staff

So, basically, the story, as far as I know is as follows.
SNK/Aruze Japan, basically told SNK-UK, to fold the opperation as quickly as possible. This included, recalling all NGPC Units, and software, cancelling all new releases, and cutting the staff down to a skeleton staff, who could answer any warrantee based enquiries.
Now, what I was told (Which also matched the rumours on the net) was that SNK-JP planned to re-manufacture the recalled units, and software, which I suppose would mean that they could continue production in Japan, with the majority of the costs already covered.
Funnily enough, I have one of the newer type, smaller version NGPC's and the PCB is dated 1999, so who knows?
Anyway, by June of 2000, when the full horror was well known to most SNK fans, I was desperate to get my hands on the up-coming releases (Numbers 33-39 on my list) So I was regularly hassling the companies that I dealt with for any news of them!
The upshot of this was, I got lucky, and managed to find a company that had just received a shipment from SNK-UK that included "Cotton" and "Dynamite Slugger"!!!!!
Now dont forget, by this stage everyone thought these games were not being produced!
But I had a full list of the other titles that should have shipped with them! My supplier said that SNK had asked for the consignment to be returned, so I rang SNK and they denied that the games even existed!!
Well this annoyed me a lot, so I hassled them for a few days, and in one particular phone call, spoke to a guy who was previously involved in shipping He not only admitted that the games existed, but told me that an entire shipment had been sent out by mistake to one of their distributors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He wasn't sure of all the titles in that shipment, but he did confirm a few, including the two that I had already got, and Picture Puzzle!
LOL! He also said that they were trying to get those games returned!!! Ha, fuckin, HA!

SO, obviously, once I and I imagine every other fan who had got one of the un-released titles, realised what was happening, we were like a dog with a bone, and started calling every importer/distributor and big independant games shop in the whole country, it was just a matter of time before more titles came to light!
After all, theres no point in denying they exist, when people actually own them!!!
The last hurdle in this race, was that most of these games either did get sent back, or never got any further, than a distributors warehouse in Hong-Kong! Allegedly! I was still looking for Reversi, Evolution, Bacarat, and Cool Boarders!
A couple of the people that I was in contact with, said that they knew the games were there (HK) but that the company wouldn't release them, until SNK gave them permission (But apparently they wouldn't send them back to Japan either!!)
So there was a bit of a stand-Off between the distributor, seeing a golden opertunity to make a huge killing, on sought after titles, and SNK wanting no further part of the European market, and certainly not wanting to honor any more guarantees!
What happened next is anyones guess!
European/US importers were gagging for the unreleased titles and any stray copies of Faselei and MS2 or Last Blade that had been returned.
So suddenly, I get a phone call saying that all the titles I want have materialised. Except for Reversi? Which I didn't even manage to confirm as existing, until some three months later! I guess nobody was jumping through any hoops to get copies of some obscure Othello port, when they could fight over copies of Evolution and Faselei, which were selling for crazy money!

BTW. do you have a clam cased copy of Shanghai?
I found that particularly difficult to get.

Anyway, I still have a letter from SNK-UK dated July 7th 2000, in which the MD's PA sends me the latest revision NGPC and thanks me for all my concern for the staff of SNK-UK
*sigh* I got to add, that they were all very nice people!
Especially Lizzy Bailey (MD's PA) who sent me some cool posters!
I wonder what she's doing now?

Holy cow, your really lucky that you got those UK games that are pulled out. Why o why did they return those NGPC titles?! I think many people actually want the english releases. Not to think about the NGPC titles get as high as the AES.

I have been looking for pocket reversi for ages, The first one i saw was on Ebay so i brought it, Haven't seen one for sell anywhere else. Think i see a Jap version once but thats all.

I never thought that i would ever get a Pocket reversi as i had been looking for so long with out even seeing one, So i suppose the value of it is very hard to determine.

I also found Shanghi mini, Cool boarders, Dynamite slugger (BTW Does yours have a spelling mistake on the spine??? Dynamite Sluggaer.) and Neo baccarat Very hard to get hold of too.

Picture puzzle was hard ish to find, But everything Else has been fairly easy to get, But sometimes at a price.

I am glad that i have Evolution as you don't see many about on Ebay now and it seems a lot harder to get than Faselei.

Thanks for the insight there, MS. I am a fairly new Neo Geo collector (Only about 9 months). As i say i have almost all the UK pocket games now and about 13 homecarts (Only cheap ones ).

Might buy myself a arcade cab next and get some MVS.

the english pocket reversi was sold for a short time by NCS.

BTW I think evolution did go through I full release later on which is how NCS required more stock. I believe it is a lot easier to find Evolution english the Faseli.

also interesting to note that Simply games was taking preorders on big bang pro wrestiling english before the pullout of english titles by SNK. I had it on preorder for 2 months until they wrote me back and said it was cancled. THen the game was released in Japan several months later.

Just though I would add what I knew of the subject.

Big Bang pro Wrestling did eventually come out in Japanese soft cased format, but interestingly, I'm told that the final release kept the English language option?
However, I've not played it, so can't confirm this personally.

Zombie thread alert!
Was just taking a trip down memory lane (searching the archives) and found this.
I'd forgotten! :)
Might be of some interest to the more recently converted NGPC fans?

I don't think cotton or evolution uk versions are hard to find, they just are ridiculously over priced on egay.
