FS: Konami Hybrid Chip Recap Services / CPS2 / CPS1 Battery Replacement

So I'm offering recap services for anyone interested in recapping their Konami Hybrid Chip.

If you have this chip:

Or this chip:

They both need to be recapped as they are all leaking. Recapping fixes dead audio, muffled audio, low audio or garbled audio.

If these chips don't work, then after the audio goes, the boards will go with it.

$25 + ship back to you.

Also doing CPS2 battery replacement for $20 + ship back to you and CPS1 for $30 + ship back to you. (double suicide, if it's a single suicide board, then it's $20)

Here's an X-men recapped. What I do is get rid of all the loose paint and clean it up. Then I take off all the caps, put little blobs of solder on it and put ceramic caps on it, then test it for an hour. I put a little more solder on it then usual because there is usually such little pad space left and I want to make sure they stay.

actually I am selling it on ebay. After I repair them, I usually chuck it up on Ebay for $.99 :P I rather enjoy repairing them too...giving them a new spark of life

For the single battery games like KotR and Cap Commando, do you use a helper battery or just change it quickly?

I use a helper battery for all of these "instant death" games haha.

I have been doing the decrypted rom fixes for my CPS1 and CPS1.5. I only have one KotR left on battery power...might have to try this.

What do you mean with when the audio goes the board goes with it? Is the board dead then, beyond revival or it only doesn't start without correct audio section?

After the audio goes, it's only a matter of time before the entire board goes. IE without a working hybrid chip, the board will not boot.
