Anyone who has bought the Retro special of Edge magasine this month, may notice that our very own Graheme Honey, AKA LondonGeezer, has been given a two page spread for his NGPC collection!

Kudos to Graheme!
Well done buddy.
Hmmm, Han-sin tigers ngpc <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

Edit, I forgot he's called 'Nigeronpa' now.

Anyone who isnt as rich as GOD should go and look at his collection and be very very jealous! ;)

It's a multi-format games magazine BUT unlike ALL the others here in the uk it is actually written by intelligent people (as opposed to monkeys) and it reads as if it has been written for gamers as opposed to 12 year olds. They don't plaster "EXCLUSIVE" all over the front, theres no crap reviews (the system s a little different in terms of average score). Also it doesn't over hype things to much (or listen to the hype to the extent the other mags do. basically it's the only games mag worth getting in the UK.

Oh yeah and it has a job section at the back full of jobs in the gaming industry!!! (rare, kuju and codemasters are always in there!

It looks like even the regular subscribers are struggling to get it.
This is a post from the retro forum on Edge Online ...

<a href="http://forum.edge-online.com/viewtopic.php?t=37177" target="_blank">http://forum.edge-online.com/viewtopic.php?t=37177</a>

And for those of you interested in Edge Magazine ...

<a href="http://www.edgemagazine.co.uk" target="_blank">www.edgemagazine.co.uk</a>

And yes, they will distribute to the States if required (see the subscription section).

Apparently it came out on the 6th, but some areas may not have it until Monday 9th.

<a href="http://forum.edge-online.com/viewtopic.php?t=36898" target="_blank">http://forum.edge-online.com/viewtopic.php?t=36898</a>

I'm off to check my local newsagents. ;)

OK, 30 miles, 8 police/army checkpoints and 4 helicopter gunships later I managed to find a copy. Only in Northern Ireland can a trip to the newsagents be more hectic than a MGS level. Major respect has to go out to Nigeronpa but reading the article makes me regret selling my NGPC collection recently although it makes me glad I held onto Reversi. Neo Turfmasters and Metal Slug home carts also get a shout in another section but with Edge's usual complete disregard for exchange rates Jap MS is shown as £1200 - £2000+ ($3115+) which is bonkers. There's also a spread on emulation and a great 8 page article on Eugene Jarvis (we're not worthy). I'll scan the NGPC article in an hour or two after I've rolled one and checked the mag out fully. If you want a scan mail me - evillittlegoat@evillittlegoat.info but I'll host and post the pictures later tonight.

Good read...... excellent spread mate! And to think i have had every game through my hands at some point or another.

I really like the way you have stuck the most collectable title at the front like Samurai Shodown 2 and Cup 98..... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" />

Only kidding, the whole magazine looks a really good read as well, although it is a bit thin on the ground with some formats. I have just noticed the part on emulators. <img src="graemlins/spock.gif" border="0" alt="[Spock]" /> I guess it is a strong part of the retro culture these days......

I have just noticed something. the CEX spread. The copy of Pocket Reversi in the corner?! And before you go jumping to the phone, already done and the guy says it is not in. Bugger....... :(

Here are the scans, but beware, these are uncompressed for clarity and the two main pages are about 1 meg each. All painfully uploaded on my 56k. Enjoy!

<a href="http://www.evillittlegoat.info/page1.jpg" target="_blank">page1</a>
<a href="http://www.evillittlegoat.info/page2.jpg" target="_blank">page2</a>

<a href="http://www.evillittlegoat.info/reversiboxout.jpg" target="_blank">Pocket Reversi</a>

I'll host these for a day or two, grab them while you can.

In fact, i have a feeling that display may have been put there as a ploy! Many of the titles there seem to be missing from the cex search. I think the guy who runs it has slyly put a collection on display with prices.... to fool us! Think about it, it would bring in more business if it looks as though it has the rare stuff in all the time.

Comments? On this and the NGPC article, which i do like...... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" /> just read another bit! You old dog, the most conclusive collection in the world.......... <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" /> that may cause a few questionable looks...... ;)

Still, good read, and promotes the system very well! <img src="graemlins/multi.gif" border="0" alt="[Multi Color Bouncey]" />

Well done Mate!!!

Yes, a very good read, thx to evillittlegoat. Heh, I'd believe that CEX thing... some retailers nowadays will stoop pretty low. Nice collection though. I'd have one just like if I had the time, money, etc ;) .

There are a number of small articles on Neo Geo in the first issue of games(tm) which is on sale now. It's got a pretty good retro section, with a great feature on my beloved speccy :D

I'm going to try and find that Edge Retro mag on monday... WH Smith didn't have it in yesterday :(

nigeronpa:

Congratulations on the due recognition!

You ought to consider reviewing those more obscure titles, people who would otherwise never get to play them would get a kick out of hearing what they're like (just a quick write-up). I'd be happy to put them in our reviews section.

Huxley, I wouldn't go as far as misqouted what i said, but maybe put it differently and jazzed it up a bit hehehehe. Bobak i will look at doing some review on some games for the site. I'll look into it over the next few days and PM you.
