Most people think we're crazy anyway cause we buy games for a 10year old system and pay all sorts of crazy cash for them.

Now, take it to the next level, and start buying cabs also, THEN they'll really think your nuts.

I havent bought one yet cause none have been in my local area.

For every pair of shoes you buy, I can buy one cabinet.

I do know a couple marriages that have been destroyed by too many pinball machines though.

My girl just thinks it's a big toy. She doesn't fully understand it, but she thinks it is kind of cool none the less. She likes NitD and Bust A Move Again... guess that's a start.

Mine didn't mind, though she was a little miffed when I told her we were going to drive 5 hours to pic it up, still she doesn't mind it.

I guess finding a game that SHE likes would make things easier huh she likes games but she thinks that there is no need for an arcade when the current home systems have "better graphics" than the arcades do now.

It does not matter, beacause I have a room reserved for the cabs and my video games.

Well, I have no girlfriend, and the closest I got was "almost" having a GF about 7 years ago. Anyhow, I don't have a Neo cab per se, but I do have a cab with a MVS installed. It is a sit-at Japanese type (26" Sega Aero City). So maybe the smaller size is a deterrant to criticisism from people. ....Or maybe the fact that I never have anybody at my apartment other than my 2 roomates is why nobody ever says anything bad about it.

I don't have a girlfriend nor a cab, LOL. I'd like to have both but I'll tell you the reasons why not:

Girlfriend - against my religion. Fornication is one of the MAJOR sins that can be committed. Having a girlfriend ALWAYS leads to sex so now you know why. But believe me if I didn't have the strength and DEAN to control my fascination with women, I'd have a whole flock of em. I'm handsome ya know.

Cab - Too big for my room. I live with my parents, who I love with all my heart, and they wouldn't approve. Plus, I haven't seen or looked for one that's in Pristine condition. I will have it when I get married and have my own place. It will be a staple of my abode, just like a pool table will be

I await your curiosity.

My wife has no problem with my cabinet nor with my video game playing ways in general. Her comments to friends about it goes something like this:

"At least I know where my husband is, do you know where yours is right now?"

Hmmmm.. Before I got my Neo Home system, all she heard was, "I want a damn Neo Geo, damnit." She even thought after I got my system she would stop hearing about Neo Geo. Then it was, "I want that damn Neo Geo game, damnit." Obviously no change. Then I got my Neo Candy, and I dont think she was too surprised. That was until I started beefing up my arcade board stash. She just tells me, "I know where I stand compared to Neo Geo." Thinking I care more for Neo then her. Hey, at least I can turn my Neo off when I want

Fortunately I already had the cab when I entered my current relationship, so I never had to rationalize buying the cabnet. Now, I simply have to rationalize the cart purchases.

My advice: Always buy her something before introducing a new cartridge to the collection. That way she won't feel ignored and you can't look like a greedy Neo hoarder..which you are.

Bakuretsu, is fornicating with a Neo cabinet allowed in your religion?

I have yet to date a girl that really cared. They've all fallen into two catagories:

"Whatever, as long as you dig it -I guess its a guy thing." (that's when I break out bust-a-move)

and

"Cool, can I play?" (both genuine interest and attempted interest)

I actually had a girlfriend who wanted to share most of my interests so she started asking me to get her into the Neo Geo. I thought it felt too weird and sort of shrugged it off. I felt like I was going to put some poor innocent on cocaine or someting (straight out of "Traffic" )

I'm definitely in the minority here. My Girlfriend thinks my cab is cool (doesn't pretend to think it's cool), but could not get into some games like Shock Troopers 2nd Squad ("it's boring"). She sort of likes Stakes Winner 2, and really likes the Metal Slug series (she's an old school Contra fan). To some degree she is sick of hearing about Neo Geo all the time.

Anyway She also thinks the cab is excessive and feels partly to blame. She is the one that got me my AES with games and offical hot pink carrying case. If you think about it, a cabinet is kind of excessive. It's fun to have regardless and really, that's what matters.

My GF likes the cabinet.. i have a neo-candy 29", and every time she comes over, we have to play a few rounds of puzzle-bobble.. i got league-bowling, hoping that she would like it - she didn't, so i had to get her a NGPC with puzzle bobble. she thinks its a little excessive that i had a bunch of shirts made for neo-geo - WHICH ARE STILL FOR SALE BY THE WAY! ahem.. anyhow.. thats my story..

Well, I live hardly on my own in a small flat, have no girlfriend at the moment but I own a huge standing 29" cabinet and still have my old generic 21" in the same room which is also my dining room/living room/bedroom
So I guess I wouldn't fit a girlfriend in anyway

Bobak, I had a girl like that too I remember back in 93 when Street Fighter 2 Turbo for Super Nes came out I bought it and was just hoping to play a little bit before she wanted to go to the movies. Turns out that she loved fighting games but she never bothered telling me (we were only together for a few weeks before she told me this) so we end up playing intil 5 in the morning! Get this, she was good. She knew how to do two in ones, she even laid a five hit combo on me with Chun li We did the same thing when I got Samurai Shodown for Super Nes too (I didn't get my Neo intil 94) She was pretty cool, I kind of miss her

Who cares what girls think? Either they will like or they won't. DOn't change any of your habits especially Neo gaming for them because then it will just burn you up inside. Then you still won't be happy. So just let them think whatever the hell they want.

The only other thing you might want to consider is where you put the Neo cab in your house because it can be kind of an eyesore sitting next to other furniture.

I am not going to change my habits for anybody! I was just curious what others had to say about it from there own dealings with the subject.

It will be a different tune when you get married jbeedham... even the strongest men buckle Then you have to worry about such things as how to introduce the new game, the new control panel overlay, the new flashing sparkly marquee, the neon sign you had made that says "Arcade", etc, etc

Glad to see someone is decorating their gameroom. I have a neon clock instead of an Arcade sign, and on of those scrolling text signs that displays new additions to the arcade. Cheers!
