I wouldn't mind the continuous FPS influx as long at it allowed for alternatives to CoD and Battlefield to have a gamer's chance of success.

Taking on Taiso's recommendation, I started Spec Ops and the story is great. I went all the way through Singularity and the story combined with innovative weapons made for a very enjoyable experience. The game rewarded taking your time to search through various scattered notes, akin to Bioshock. CoD will continue to sell en masse, but it squeezes out competitive series like Resistance that have a more entertaining single player campaign but can't face the scrutiny of declining sales.

They're missing a big opportunity with the Kinect and the Japanese market. They can create specially designed sex simulators and rape simulators for the Japanese fanbase.

Is that demographic known as Dudebrotaku?

Sounds like it will be a giant pile of shit.

Smokehouse... Now whatever happened to that guy? I kinda miss his "take-no-prisoners" trademark style of profanity.

Haah, gaaaaaaaaaaay.
Next!

So you have no point of reference here, Donny.

The point of reference here, is that I can't find anything cheaper than someone with a student visa about to expire, willingly let me haul his stuff off for 20 bucks.

By mid August, potential buyers (i.e. newly enrolled students) will appear in tens of thousands. After all, there are not one, not two, but three universities in town.

How can you be on dial up with a university nearby?

I was just about to start a new thread on that topic.

This is huge. The rumors are actually fact now. The Xbox One needs to be connected to the internet every 24hrs. If the PS4 does not require a daily internet connection (we should all know for sure by e3 next week), then Sony and Nintendo have already won. This is absolutely insane.
With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies.

Link--->http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/connected

Fact #1
Many members of the military are gamers and they cannot possibly connect every 24hrs when out in the field.

Fact #2
The poor and disadvantaged may not have an internet connection.

Fact #3
Nintendo and possibly Sony (fingers crossed) wont be doing this.

Fact #4
You cannot compare a smart phone (personal usage device) with a living room device that the WHOLE FAMILY is subjected to being recorded, studied, and exploited for monetary greed. What you say, do and act our will no longer be a private family affair.

Fact #5
Gamers wont be able to take their Xbox One systems on trips or vacations without possibly paying for wifi fees at a hotel or other accommodation.

Fact #6
No more taking your Xbox one to a friend or relative's house for more that a day. Imagine having to use SOMEONE ELSE'S INTERNET SECURITY INFO to log on.

This is huge for the gaming community. I'm sure hackers will get around this someday.

The only way M$ will win this generation is if gamers and the mainstream have become so naive and foolish that they simply wont care. Please Sony, DO NOT FOLLOW THIS INSANITY.

Wow this is all pretty weak news. Basically confirms everything that was griped about after the unveil.

Its funny how they try to wrap this all up in a bow to be all great, by saying "look at the new great features you get with xboxone" when in fact they took almost everything away.

Shame on you M$, I will not be supporting this.

Right now I am hoping that SONY does not do any of this. Otherwise I will stick with my 360 till it dies and then maybe go PC. This is caca.

If gamesharing with 9 of my friends work, I may be interested...

Give your family access to your entire games library anytime, anywhere: Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time.

I could handle the Kinect bullshit, but this is simply some of the worst DRM I have ever heard of.

I'll be voting with my wallet.

Sony, you're my last hope.

Sony will have a very similar model...both systems are kowtowing to the publishers. They both will follow the PC/Steam model for gaming and by and large most of your facts only constitute outliers.

I'm sure they've done tons of marketing analysis about the percentage of xboxs that never go online and at this point consider it not a big enough deal. Hell it wouldn't surprise me if they come out with an app for smart phones that connects via bluetooth or what not to your console for the validation.

I look at how I game today..and with the exception of the slightly creeepy always on kinect, nothing is really different for me. i don't take my xbox out of my living room and unless my power is out, in which case i won't be gaming, I have internet...so meh. Welcome to the new norm.

If Sony does in fact have a similar model and leave it all up to the publishers (which means it will be the same as Xbox1), will Sony 1st party games have these requirements?

If so, then Sony will be no different

I think one of the biggest issues I'm seeing is if you get banned from Xbox live, rightly or wrongly, your console becomes a brick.

The abject greed from all this is just delicious.
Stalin was right, capitalists not only sell you the rope to hang them with, but they also tie it and climb the wobbly chair as well.

I want this shit to bomb so hard and I'll have enough impotent rage left over for Sony as well if they pull the same shit....I'll be done with games once this happens.
