Well...almost finished with the AR...thought I'd do a pre/post shot but I landed up breaking my Canon camera trying to take a pic (fucking thing didn't lock into the camera mount...crap...). SO...here's a lackluster camera phone pic.

New:
RRA.jpg

Now:
AR_May_11.jpg

Ok...the stock two-stage RRA trigger is REALLY nice and I like many of the stock features of the gun...however, there were some things that needed changing:

-Added a VLTOR IMOD clubfoot stock
-The VLTOR required a Mil-spec buffer tube so I added a Bravo Company mil-spec receiver extension, new spring and heavy buffer
-Magpul B.A.D, M.I.A.D, R.V.G, rear MBUS, ASAP sling mount and some windowed 30-round P-Mags...
-BCM "gunfighter" MOD 4 charging handle
-Midwest Industries quad rail handguard

...and finally...the thing I've been saving up for...

EOTech EXPS2-0 sight...

Man...this thing is awesome! Perfect co-witness with the built in riser, quick release (that holds zero), tons lighter than their 500 series and only one battery...super kick ass.

I think I may be done...I'm not sure...

Nice. I Love those Eotech sights. The BCM gunfighter charging handles are just so nice too.

Your enahnced trigger guard reminds me I just bought a magpul enhanced trigger that I need to install on my A2.

You have a sling?

I'd be interested to see what people like for a sling.

So far just a 5.11 VTAC single point...that's for my MOLLE setup though. I want to get a 2-point for simple carry, that single point is not all that comfortable

Slightly bored on a rainy day...

My new (to me) Glock 17.
IMAG0083.jpg

Need more mags. So far I love it. Should not have resisted for so long.

Also my rig as it currently stands.
IMAG0084.jpg

The belt is constantly changing as my waist line shrinks. (Went from a size 50 to a 42 & even those are starting to get loose on me.) Probably going to add a canteen back to it. Just not liking the camel back that much. At least for fighting, probably be fine for camping or hiking & what not.
Chest rig is pretty much done. Only thing missing is an ifak.

You got a pouch to hold those Cigs? :D

What are you planning on putting in your IFAK? Lately I've kind of got the urge to take some basic first aid classes.

I always suggest a standard 2 point sling for a rifle if a sling is needed. Right now, I have a VTAC 2 point, but anything else should do.

I'd have no clue how to use some of that stuff. But at the same time if I got severely injured maybe if someone came to my aid they would be able to...

I know there are a lot of bandages and stuff out there for dealing with GSW's. That is somethign I'd like to look in to. I have no clue how to use a tourniquet as it was something we weren't told how to use in Scouts. But in doing reading on the internet I see modern tourniquets are almost a standard in a personal first aid kit and it seems the possible damage caused by a tourniquet has been blown way out of proportion over the years. Maybe I just haven't learned the right things about first aid. I will have to look for some local organizations (Red Cross perhaps) and see if they offer any classes.

Anyway, I'd love to learn more about first aid. I looked at my local community college but they weren't offering any classes. I've seen online a couple tactical carbine classes that are focused on first aid and shooting. That's cool. I'd like to stick with some basic first aid though before I jump out the deep end.

On that note I'm working on a first aid kit for my car right now. Or starting to at least, I just got a bright yellow, hard plastic container to keep in the back of my Forester.

Hell yeah, go have some fun!

Took it out today with some 55gr new brass Fiocchi rounds and sighted in the EOTech...then I ran through 50rds of the Silver Bear. I had zero problems with it, no fail to feed, no fail to fire...accuracy right there with the Fiocchi at 50yds. So far this is good stuff, it doesn't even have the "funny smell" that Tula or Wolf has. I inspected the upper after firing and it seems no more dirty than any other .223. I may buy another 500 of that stuff this week if the price stays low.

On a side note...that EOTec is awesome...pure, awesomeness...the difference pre and post EOTech is night a day, I can't say enough good stuff about it. Like my M&P 15-22, everyone that shot my AR adored that EOTech and instantly made comments about how fast the sight picture was immediately after shooting with it.

on thing that sucks though, I will say my AR gets HOT quick...I bet the heavy barrel doesn't help much...I had to take shooting breaks to let the damn thing cool off...

My god smoke...something horrible must have happened to that Nagant, many years ago, for you to modify it in that way?

My god smoke...why did you do that to the Nagant?

Where to start...my father bought it back in the late 80's...chopped the bayonet lug off, chopped the stock down, added some ugly sling mounts and then did a trigger job on it (an AMAZING trigger job BTW...to this day he's still not 100% sure what he did but it one of the best triggers I've ever felt). When I inherited it in the late 90's it looked like this:

puff-and-betsy.jpg

That short barrel and tiny stock made that thing fucking painful...seriously, it was BAD. I landed up adding a scope to it but couldn't stand shooting it because it hurt so bad. Last winter I added an ATI stock (which is awesome BTW). Now it's a 100yd tack driver and far more comfortable to shoot...I know the purists would hang me from the highest tree but they should probably go back to 1988 and do it to my father before he butchered the stock.

I love the PSL.

Smokehouse you did good with that Mosin given the state you received it in.

No clue dude, I have NO clue. Sure is badass though.

In other news:

The Calguns Foundation and the Second Amendment Foundation Sue The State of CALIFORNIA over so called "Assault Weapons" arrest

The case seeks to declare the CA AWB as unconstitutionally vague (and thus strike down the entire law!)

We will win this. The next couple of years will be exciting.

I hope everyone else in a fucked up state has groups fighting this hard for their rights!

That would be nice, but it probably wouldn't make it past the 9th circuit of appeals, though. Here's hoping...

(it would reduce the number of you California tourists that sneak over the border into Nevada to buy up all the cheap guns and ammo)

Nah, we'll win in some capacity. The distinctions between what weapons are assault weapons and what aren't are wholly arbitrary. Particularly when you look at the list of weapons banned by name (Colt, etc.)

Who drives over to NV to buy ammo? I purchase about 95% of my ammo online. Only way I can afford it.

We can't really buy guns in NV anyway. Well, we can, but we have to have them sent to a CA FFL unless the weapon is long gun 50 or more years older.

CA C&R License holders can buy any C&R weapon in Nevada though regardless of age.

I was bored so did some gun photography.

IMG_4672-e1306553617930.jpg

My A2 HBAR with M9 Bayonet.

Added a Magpul MOE grip, Magpul trigger guard, BCM Gunfighter Charging handle.

I don't like the standard grip. The placement of the nub just doesn't work for me. I don't mind something that has finger grooves like the Hogue grips. Those are solid grips also.

The MOE grip with the standard trigger guard was killing my index finger, with the new trigger guard that issue is fixed.
