What picture are you talking about? Is it just something you posted here/ on facebook?

Yep...that pic...literally a shot of their logo, painted on a wall in their office. I did post it here...for about one day. Right in the legal paperwork it had my name followed by "posted a picture of our logo on the internet"...verbatim...when my boss read it he said it was absurd but then immediately changed gears telling me "You should know better" to which I replied "Known better what? Not to break some imaginary rule no one informed me of or made me agree to?".

Hell, the next day he came up to me a asked me if I was still pissed about it to which I replied "you bet your ass I am". He told me he was shocked I was still not accepting any blame for the issue to which I replied "Again...blame for what? Breaking some rule I didn't know existed? My contact from SA was standing right next to me when I shot the stupid wall picture and made no comment about it when he saw me do it." He replied with some bullshit "Well, did you ask for permission to post that logo?" reply which further pissed me off.

After that he informed me he sent it on to SA, asked for a conf from them and they replied back with a "thank you, it really wasn't a big deal" reply. He (my boss and the company owner) though it was rather amusing. I told him I take my job seriously and anything that could have cost me my job for something so absurd pisses me off. he then informed me he was blowing off steam and would never fire me for such a thing (which only added fuel to my fire). I've been with this company for 11 years and run some of their largest jobs...I have a good position in the company but it still pisses me off...

What a mess.

Sheesh. Bunch of grown men acting like babies.

Glad it didn't get too serious. I certainly won't praise SA in the future.

Well...traded in the Ruger Sp101. That thing was consistently shooting some 6" low and 6" left @ <10yds no matter who shot it. I tried to send it back in to Ruger but they wanted me to pay for shipping to them...overnight...

It came to $77...

IF they found fault with it, they would fix it and send it back for free. If not I had to pay for return shipping myself...

So...rather than drop that kind of $$ on a $485 gun...I traded it in.

Picked this up:

9mm_handguns.jpg

FNX-9...

I took it out yesterday and was surprised at how fast the followup shots were...and how touchy the trigger was. I was expecting a DA/SA handgun to be funky but this shocked the hell out of me. When attempting to double tap I was constantly firing the second shot before I would get the firearm back on target. The first shot would dead on, the second darn near straight up. Either way, I need to work with this thing. I'm also shocked at how much lighter this thing is than my XDm...33oz-vs-21oz...the difference is staggering figuring the FN holds 17 rounds, only 2 less than the XDm.

If this turns out to be as nice as it was yesterday...I just may sell my XDm 9 and get a FNP 45...

Cool, hope you have better luck with that gun! Looks like a lot of fun.

I want to get some steel targets to do some shooting on with my 9mm and 22lr.

I recently picked up some gear:

Blade Tech AR-15 mag pouch w/ Tek Lock
Double Glock Mag Pouch w/ Tek Lock

I did not pay the prices blade tech was asking for these items

That's about as tacticool as I'm going to get. Not interested in any chest rig setup currently unless it's also body armor.

Let's see I ordered a folding pocket knife but that's not too exciting. It's legal to carry a folding knife in most parts of CA, so I just got something for every day carry.

Been messing around with my 16" Middy AR, here is the current setup:

IMG_4644-e1303958677271.jpg

There's that A1 carry handle from CnC Gunsmithing.

I installed an A2 aperture on the sight so I have the big aperture and little aperture.

There is a forward sling mounted on the left side of the gun. It's mounted to the slot nearest the delta ring. The company (Mount 'n Slot) that made the mount is about to put out a better mount that is further back (but requires cutting a hole in the handguard) that I'm going to buy.

It's amazing just how small the Double Eagle looks...definitely doesn't feel that small up close.

If you don't mind...how much did that AR setup cost you?

I've never bothered to total the amount I spent. I didn't buy all the parts at once. Put it together over time.

Spike's Tactical 16" Midlength Upper Receiver

That's the upper I used.

I paid $100 for the A1 carry handle.

The stripped lower receiver was $100, then I added the lower parts kit ($60ish?).

Magpul CTR stock is around $100 but I also had to buy a buffer tube and spring (don't recall the price on that.)

I think the Handguards were $35 and the Pistol Grip was somewhere in that range too.

Magpul Sling was like $50 (it's okay. I'd like to try some other slings out) and I don't remember how much the Magpul sling plate costs. I also have a front sling mount I added that was around $25?

Uh the Muzzle Brake was stupid expensive. It's a Battle Comp 1.0 - you can look that up :emb:

EDIT: Forgot that it also has a BCM Gunfighter Charging handle. I love these things. That's another $50.

Colt AR-22, the firearm of choice for discerning green-haired old lady:

My mom with her favorite Christmas present from last year (not from me, tho).

BTW: My mom is more tacticool than your mom!

Has this been posted before? If so I apologize, but it's just neat:

Get the gear you want in FDE or other light shade of tan and then you can probably dye it to the color you want.

RIT Dye, for example, can be used to dye certain polymers - there is a big thread about it on AR15.com or M4Carbine.net (I forget which) about guys taking Magpul FDE furniture and dying it to colors they want. Some of them are even doing some pretty intricate camo schemes.

I use RIT Dye as an example because you can use it to dye fabrics and I guess it takes to Nylon pretty well.

Dye can only make something darker, not lighter. To dye something pink you have to start off with white, or lighter shade of pink, because if you start off with something that already has yellow, blue, or black in it, you are only going to end up with something that can only be "not pink" because when you add pink (very desaturated red) to tan (desaturated brown, which is actually a dark orange, which is red + yellow), you get a slightly darker shade of brown. You're just adding more red to the existing red + yellow.

Via google, I found some websites that carry pink accessories, but the selection is small, and it's mostly pistol stiff, like grips and holsters.

More women need to get into shooting, dammit!

I guess I never saw any pink gear dyed from FDE :emb: but plenty of red.

Red is close enough to pink.

Pink sucks, black, fde, or od is where it's at.

Not my call on the color, it's for a gift for Mother's day.

Although, I think it's funny; the more MANLY a shooter thinks he is, the more he's afraid he is to shoot a pink gun, because he might somehow catch "the gay" from it.

I'll shoot a pink gun but I think the color is retarded.

I'd rather have a DeWalt yellow gun or a blue one if I had to pick a non standard color.

Just added one of those to my AR as well...that thing is awesome, well worth the $$.

On a side note, after my wife griping about my having traded off her SP101 two weeks ago, I went and picked up a S&W .38 Bodyguard today. I can pick it up Sat and I'm going to give it to her on Sunday.

The flamethrower rounds are fun. There are videos on youtube of people shooting those at night. They look pretty badass. Not useful at all...but badass nonetheless.

I don't really care for the FPS Russia videos. He does some entertaining shit though and shoots cool stuff like the AA-12 and ACR. I am more a fan of these guys:
